Let's be honest, 2k didn't do anything besides put out basketball games to kill Live. They didn't buy the license. An executive of 2k went over to EA and came running back. That should tell you something. 2k did to Live what 50 Cent did to Ja Rule."I strive to be live cause I got no choice" - CL Smooth
Teams
NBA: Cleveland Cavaliers - 2016 NBA Champions
NFL: Cleveland Browns
MLB: Cleveland Indians
NCAA BB: Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland St. Vikings
NCAA FB: Ohio State BuckeyesComment

Re: NBA Live 13: The Best Kept Secret in the Universe?
Honestly, because the more basketball games on store shelves the better. I'd love to have too many bball titles to choose from every year. I love 2K, as long as they keep bringing the quality, I'll keep paying. That said, I'm all for having something different to switch up to from time to time. Even now, I got no HUGE beefs with 2K12 even though there are definitely some things in there that I want to see and know will be fixed, but from time to time, I throw Live 10 in the tray just to switch things up a bit. Like I said, the more choices the better.Comment

No matter what the other game does, its still the same engine. Not a bad thing but unless association is vastly improved, I will need something new.Comment

Not only that, 2k introduced facial expressions into their game. Jordan sticks out his tongue on drives. My player mode with the combine, training camp, interviews, d league. They have introduced legends for us old school guys. The have sig dunk and layup packages. They have MJ's and kobe's sig fadaway jumpers in their game. Also their presentation is top notch. What other game or engine has this?
Talking about 2k's engine being the same is played out. Their bball games aren't perfect, but they do strive to improve every year. Their tech should be applauded and appreciated.
It blows what EA is doing out of the water and this has been the case for years.Comment

What engine has been better when it comes to basketball this gen? From the looks of it, what 2k has to work with allows them to build and improve on a consistent basis. I think 2k's engine is underrated and should be appreciated.

Matter of fact 2k trying to pull off the stunt this company is and they'd get bashed beyond with people swearing off the series left and right to the point you'd think they re the ones who's been screwing fans over
Basketball fans have been getting the short end of the stick for a long time now
I'd love to see ea pull this off with madden to see what the reactions would be....and I know people wouldn't come in here saying " as long as they bring it out I'd still buy it if it was crap"

Re: NBA Live 13: The Best Kept Secret in the Universe?
Funny thing about the 2k engine is that it sounds like it is still the same one from the dreamcast games! Obviously it hasnt hindered them completely (If true still) but had EA done that.....well I think we know what the outcome would be lol
EA seems to suffer from ADHD since they put something in the game one year, and its missing the next. They introduce an engine one season, and start fresh the next year....Its like they go through extremes because of a little issue, instead of fixing that issue and continually building off of a potential foundation.FEAR THE DEER!Comment
