MUST SEE MOVIE! Beast of the Southern Wild -
Operation Sports Forums
The upgrade is complete, but you've probably noticed the forums are only showing posts up to about April 8. Posts made after that are still in the process of being moved over, and that should take another week or two. Feel free to start a new thread.
The site might feel a little slow while work continues. Engineers are staying on it through the night to get things moving faster again. Thanks for your patience.
One of the best movies I have seen in a long time. It will make you laugh, it will make you cry. Please go support this movie, it's not in most popular theaters, you have to look and see where it is playing in your area.
Thanks for supporting this movie. Its going to be one of those movies thats not going to be popular til it wins a Oscar. You know how many of the movies that wins Oscars, nobody has ever heard of. This is that type of movie.
Wish I could see it but the closest it plays is an hour away and I'm not that big of a movies fan to drive that long just for it. Sadly, this'll be a movie that I'll plan to watch once it's out on dvd but b/c it won't have much marketing I'll probably just forget about it.
My football alliances: E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles AND Hokie Hokie Hokie Hi
I saw it last week, and I really, really didn't like it. I was more disappointed than anything. My girlfriend and I just kind of looked at each other at the end with a "what the hell did we just watch look." I LOVED the score, loved the cinematography, loved the acting, but I hated the story. It felt like it was lacking an actual plot. This is exactly the kind of movie my girlfriend and I usually love. But it just missed. We were talking about it afterwards and decided that it must have been more metaphorical than we had expected, so we missed out on something. It was one of the more odd movie experiences I've had. I had been looking forward to it since May or so, too.

I don't really agree with that logic. Regardless, many films with the "Cannes" label seem iffy and can tend to produce that very statement quoted above, as in "what the hell did we just watch".
