It's a free country...do whatever you want. But it does not make one a smart person to pay $405 bucks for a stinking video game you can buy for 45 bucks.
Holy mother of god some people are just plain crazy and dumb as a box of rocks.
Or maybe they have more money than they know what to do with.
God bless them. And God bless the United States of America.

Re: Madden NFL 13 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)
Just played a game on All-Madden and that is where this game shines. The AI was smart versus being dumb as rocks on All-Pro. It took the appropriate timeouts and played a very smart game. Obviously this is how the game was suppose to be played.
All Pro was way too easy and All Madden I had my rear handed to me. I moved from zero interest to now a day one buy.Comment

Piss poor AI - my wide open receivers not even attempting to make a play on good, catchable balls. I had at least two, one with a streaking Randy Moss and another with Vernon Davis on a deep post where they just kept running and didn't even acknowledge the pass was to them.
Absolutely exploited poor CPU defense, because apparently the CPU playing press coverage means Randy Moss burns them deep EVERY time so I still racked up a ton of yards just literally running the same streak route to Randy Moss about 5 times straight and the CPU could never stop it.
When I was on defense, they pretty much exclusively ran the ball. And hey, why not, its easy to rack up yards on the ground when my linebackers, who have a perfect opportunity to blast the runner at the line, decide to run backwards AWAY from the ball carrier. I have seen this happen numerous times through the demo when instead of running up to make a stop, my linebackers literally run away from the running back.
This kind of AI better be cleaned up in retail. Although it probably won't be, this is the same incompetent AI Madden has had for years. This is the ki d of stuff that's gonna have me trading this game back in a week after release. I can't believe im actually gonna spend $60 on this thing hoping retail is gonna fix the mess that has existed this entire generation.
I'll try again. Ive mainly been playing on normal speed, and hadn't noticed things this bad (other than my timid linebackers that don't want to tackle), and this last game I went down to slow. Maybe someone changing the speed messed up my timing on everything. If that's the case, then ill just stick with normal speed. But that last game I played was just baaaaaddddd.Comment

That's part of why people say Madden is the same game year in and year out. Same o'le legacy issues.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)
Saw some crazy tackles like the ball carrier flying into the air and doing a flip, which is not realistic at all on a big hit normally. The running game seems a bit overpowered with the ability to easily break tackles. I can't say much though because I'm basically buying solely for CC.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)
I love what this demo is but there are going to be some of us who own this demo and others that Own a different one.
I say this bc I would not at all be surprised if right now
at EA there are some discussions as to what to do about the Demo
they released. My expectation is that, as a result of the division of the community over demo vs retail, that after the game drops, the demo
that is downloadable then will more accurately reflect the final build.
Not saying this is negative or not, but it would make sense.
I wonder if that has ever been done before in the short history of DL console demos?Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)
Any chance they fixed the psychic CBs and safeties? As well as the 6ft-jumping LBs? How about the fact that the game had a mechanism if you played All-Madden that they would prevent you from creating a blowout?
Anything else fixed that ruined the last two versions?Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)
I was very hard on the demo initially, but after a solid week of slider/Speed/Threshold tweaking i've found a comfortable balance and must say if the retail build cleans up a few snafu's here and there this will be the perfect base for madden to build upon in the years to come.
I Feel like alot of users issues with the game really stem from their fundamental lack of actual football experience and knowledge combined with sometimes unrealistic and unproductive demands. i Understand the AI issues for online play, but aside from that im tired of the excuses. This year the collision detection and planting are phenomenal so there is a sense of 1 on 1 WR vs DB in air that was simply not possible with the pre cans. That combined with this MUCH IMPROVED touch passing control. man you can throw some beautiful balls (pause)
To all the people with huge complaints (which i still have for other areas aside from gameplay)
but for the gameplay naysayers i really want you to try and identify some of the D's your seeing. Mix some of your packages up. really get into the chess game with some pull blocking. It seems like Madden really made an effort to get it right this year. Try a few wheel n go Hot routes and audibles against different D's. There really is a sense of running the offense/ defense respectively. although i feel the momentum from play to play could be represented a little better , as well as an auto hurdle (at least over fallen teammates if not opponentsComment

I don't agree with this at all. I don't feel there is a chess match in the least bit, the CPU defenses are more psychic than ever.I was very hard on the demo initially, but after a solid week of slider/Speed/Threshold tweaking i've found a comfortable balance and must say if the retail build cleans up a few snafu's here and there this will be the perfect base for madden to build upon in the years to come.

The CPU knows when I call a run or a pass and comes with a defense appropriate to stop. They know every audible I call and adjust accordingly, either shifting to the hole I am running, or spreading out to cover the routes I have now called. Any hot route I call, the defense reacts accordingly to cover it. It is literally every play all and every adjustment the CPU knows exactly what I am doing.
On the other end of the ball, I watch as my defenders literally take themselves out of plays, either by running away from ball carriers, or running out of zones they are supposed to be covering, leaving assignments wide open. Man to man coverage they simply don't cover.
Certain plays are still unusable, while others are still virtually unstoppable.
I don't see a chess match. The "exploit the ai" is worse than it has ever been. CPU is more psychic than ever before, and success merely comes from exploiting the same weaknesses over and over, not by varying up a game plan and attacking holes in the CPU's strategy.Comment
