    NBA 2K13: Prospective Signature Skills

Over at IGN.com, news that you would be able to play as the 1992 Dream Team in NBA2K13 came along with some more information on the already announced Signature Skills. In addition to the Brick Wall and Floor General skills we learned about in Samit Sakar’s preview for Polygon, IGN’s Ryan McCaffrey tells us that we can:
Expect upwards of 30 of them total, with each player having up to five of the passive abilities. Clutch, Deadeye, Lockdown Defender, and others will make the stars just a little more accurate to their real-life counterparts, and in My Player you’ll be able to develop them with your custom avatar.
So that’s five skills announced, but that leaves 25 or more that we don’t yet know about. Keeping in mind the approach that games like FIFA have taken to adding specialized skills for individual players, what are some of the other possible skills for NBA2K13 to include and how might they be implemented?

I said this on another thread but they need to have a "split-picks" signature skill for players like Dwayne Wade, Ginobli, Westbrook, Dion Waiters that split pick and rolls and split defenders at will

In one of the Community videso, they said-

            -Finisher- Finish Strong into paint.
-Defensive Anchor- Makes teammates better on defense
            -Quick Release
            -Trash Can/Scrapper
-Acrobat(westbrook had it)- I think it is ability to change shots in air
-Hands symbol- He Wasnt sure, think it is steals
            -Dimer- Passing/Assists. Lebron had it.
            -Bruiser- Hard Fouls
-Microwave/Get Hot Quick- Get Hot quick
            -SPot up shooter

6th Man Skill- Comes in good off the bench.
-Ball Security- Less likely to turnover over the ball

Not sure are these guesses or what, it looks like they are trying to figure out what skills might end up in the game.

They should have a Energy Boost skill for guys who come in and just hustle all the time like Reggie Evans. All ways diving for loose balls, trying to hit the glass, setting screens, and trying to play pressure D.

How about we wait until they tell us and not play make believe. People will get confused and think these are in minus what we already know are in.

i know this has nothing to do with this thread but its just a thought since they got Beasly looking right and Chris Paul looking better than before (still not perfect) but i wonder if they fixed NeNe and Kennith Faried's hair this time..

Re: NBA 2K13: Prospective Signature Skills

"Double Down: Player tandems like Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan were absolutely lethal when trapping the ballhandler near the halfcourt line, but in the NBA2K series, the best you can reasonably hope for is a jump ball. With this skill, the player’s participation in double teams will be extra effective, resulting in more steals and forcing more bad passes that become turnovers."

                      Scottie with the Bulls!!

"Power Dunker: Dunks by players like Dominique Wilkins and Shawn Kemp have sometimes been felt to be worth more than just the two points that went up on the scoreboard for the way they could demoralize an opposing team through sheer force. A skill like this applied to Blake Griffin would provide a slight hit to the opposing team’s Defensive Awareness or other ratings for a few plays to give a little more impact to truly stupendous throwdowns"

classic teams Atlanta Hawks and Seattle Supersonics

Re: NBA 2K13: Prospective Signature Skills

Are signature skills any different from tendencies? Will certain animations be tied to signature skills? For example, I hope a defensive anchor doesnt boost his team's defense too much. Offensively, I'd like to be able to still take advantage of mismatches without poor fatigued defenders getting artificial boosts.

                          30+ thats alot

I wonder if when the rosters are updated that these skills will be updated, like if next season say someone gets better at somethhing will they earn a skill for it or lose 1 if they get worse?

My problem with this is you can't just limit some guys like D Rose and Bron to just 5 out of 30+

Yeah that would be annoying, but I doubt 2K would do that. If so it would be fixed.

Im sure they will, they are pretty accurate, though ther's always guys that seem to be overrated and underrated
