I agree with you especially if you can create a roll out protection to intentionally slide away from the overloaded side. Would be nice to have a RB/FB to focus on the back side and slide the entire line protection to the opposite side to help prevent the back side free rush. I'm not saying that pass protection doesn't need to be addressed and every once in a while I expect to see someone come flying through free, not all the time, but every once in a while I expect to see a Ray Lewis or Polamalu diving over the line type of play. I was just pointing out that he had a man advantage. What I would like to see is if he did that and had a TE/RB stay in to block and if he got the free rush. I'm assuming that he might because of the known glitch but would be interesting to see.

SUPER QUESTION
When a QB is scrambling out of the pocket and they try to slide right near the defender, will the QB have a shield that prevents them from being hit just because they attempted to slide? Like the defender is right there, but because the QB pressed Square/X, they just slide even though they were right there to be tackled.
Will that be fixed?Comment

I would say probably not. The NFL doesn't want cheap shots in the game as far as we have seen so already. Its their product, if they don't want it in... it won't be.SUPER QUESTION

Those tactics are horrible but that is not a nano. That is 6-7 rushers vs 5 blockers... that is a realistic result. All 5 lineman block a man coming... one comes through the A gap clean due to no one else available to block.Alright EAGCs WTF is up with this? lol

Now I realize this is NCAA 13 not M13 BUT they share the central game play team and I could have sworn Sgibs told me there was a rest period/mandatory pause after shifting before you could shift again. Mr. Mason I think you worked mainly with NCAA 13 so how is this still there?
I would BEG someone to run that against me... they would quit doing it in a hurry or quit the game due to getting crushed everytime they tried it after the first time.
Edit: at 2:22 is a nano but easily defensed. Those dudes should be smacked. Garbage ballers for real.Last edited by CRMosier_LM; 08-12-2012, 10:34 AM.Comment

Re: The more videos I watch, the less I seem to see the impact of the Infinity engine
I don't mean cheap shots... I mean when you press square to slide and the defender just stops even though he's RIGHT IN FRONT of the QB to make a clean tackle, but the QB has a shield that allows him to almost slide in place.
Just try to slide with your QB in a game, or play against Michael Vick or Josh Freeman in M12 to see what I mean.
Will it be addressed?Comment

Re: The more videos I watch, the less I seem to see the impact of the Infinity engine
I am going to presume that I somehow did a poor job of articulating the point and try again. I am asking if the "shake" part can still be done in M13, meaning the ridiculous way players can be repeatedly shifted back and forth creating that "Benny Hill" like scrum. I posted what Sgibs had posted in another thread, that in the E3 build he wasn't able to "shake" defenders and that there was now a pause/delay after shifting before the User could shift defenders again. Those tactics are horrible but that is not a nano. In that video for NCAA 13 there is obviously no such delay and I don't understand why not. I honestly don't know how to make it any clearer than that and I am a bit surprised that anyone would look at that crap and think it's no big deal because they know how to stop it.Comment

Optimistically, it would seem as if the gameplay team fixed it for Madden and not for NCAA. Maybe during the implementation of the Infinity Engine some programming voodoo was done intentionally or was a natural byproduct of its inclusion, and shaking was 86'd for Madden. Re: The more videos I watch, the less I seem to see the impact of the Infinity engine
I hope that is the case because I didn't even buy NCAA this year but it just doesn't seem likely. As far as I know, both games share the same game play team but I will concede that Infinity made it into Madden without going into NCAA so it's possible the "shake" fix did too. I guess I am baffled at the prospect of, unlike with a complex new physics engine, a "fix" for this would be in one game but not the other.Optimistically, it would seem as if the gameplay team fixed it for Madden and not for NCAA. The infinity engine would kick in before the slide animation right? And then it would warp to a QB slide and look ridiculous as all get out. That is what I'm expecting too see.SUPER QUESTION

It's got to survive the waves of patches too as people beg to have it back in the game. If people beg for it to return, I'm going to go off. Not on OS, because I don't want to get run from here, but if I see it on other boards, I'm going to register and rip into people like I'm this guy

Re: The more videos I watch, the less I seem to see the impact of the Infinity engine
been looking for this thread for how long now! i finally figured out how to search for threads so thats 1 positive that came out of this.
anyways this is what i really wanted to know and why i posted here.
how did a thread this great suddenly disappear for no apparent reason. and where are all the folks who were having discussions in this thread. seems like ever since the demo dropped alot of folks went M.I.A.
anyways i just find the derailment of this thread and the vanishing of all the folks that were participanting in it odd enough that i felt the need to ask about it.
im not tryna resurrect this thread, i could care less about the thread, as much as i just wanta know where did all the sim-commentators go on this site. i left the boards for about a wk and i come back and everyones vanished.

As of now in the early release.... Played a ton of games. Some good points most not do much.
The IE DOES NOT effect any aspect of gameplay aside from after a play. Sure arms and legs get caught up but it happens at a very unrealistic amount that it's just annoying.
After just a few games, all the same canned animations we have had for years are still there and still repeat ALOT.
all in all it was better in the demo believe it or not but IE cod have waited another year, it certainly needs the extra time.Comment

Re: The more videos I watch, the less I seem to see the impact of the Infinity engine
Just read the GameInformer review and found this...I had to re-read the first sentence three times because I thought it was a typo at first. If there’s one glaring mistake that brings Madden 13 down, it’s the new Infinity physics engine. It sometimes makes good on its intent to bring more realistic physics, varied hits, and multiple contact points on the body, but the effects of player collision are inconsistent. You never know if you’re going to unexpectedly trip during inside runs, and the new physics system can make players look sloppy, with arms flailing, legs buckling, and players flopping on the ground. The tackles sometimes feel pre-determined, and suction blocking and tackling still occurs.Comment
