32-team control workaround in offline CCM

OK, so I stopped by GameStop and was able to play the full copy of Madden 13. After a discussion on here, I figured out a workaround for those of you who like to A) control every team and B) play whatever games you want during the season.

    Here's some notes:
-You can retire from your active coach/player and select a new one. That previous coach stays active. I was able to go back and forth between Pat Shurmur, Andy Reid, Marvin Lewis and Lovie Smith without trouble in Week 1.

-I played the Browns-Eagles game as Shurmur, super-simming to the end. Afterward I switched around coaches. The Browns-Eagles score was still in effect after I switched coaches, and I could play my new team's game.

-I bring up the latter with a note. You cannot sim said coach's game and expect that to save (unless you play the game and super-sim it, I believe). I tried just simming the Bears' Week 1 game, retired from Lovie, then simmed the Bengals game. I retired from Lewis and returned to Lovie and the Bears. The previously simmed game for the Bears was not reflected. However, my original Browns-Eagles game, which I played by super-simming, was reflected in the standings. I went back to Shumur and Reid, and both had their game as being completed.

I hope that helps some. Since you have the option to turn off CPU trades, you kind of have 32-team control in a way. I think you'll still have CPU teams cutting and signing players, but it's something. Enough that I plan on trading NCAA and purchasing it now.

Side note, I noticed on Best Buy's website you can get $40 store credit on NCAA 13 through today. Believe it expires tonight.

Thanks for this info. I'm going to try it out.

How do you retire? [edit] Okay. I found it. It's under "More...", "My Career".

I noticed, and remember hearing, the XP doesn't save. I wonder if you, say, improve a player's ratings (like a rookie QB in the preseason), then switch teams, if his rating stays the same or reverts back.

I can confirm that this does indeed seem to work. It's a little tedious, but it will allow me to play all games during a season.

As far as the XP goes, I don't care so much about that. I will have another save for that experience. I just want to have a league where I can play any/every game.

Yeah me, too. I just noticed going into the Week 1 game with the Browns that McCoy started over Weeden with a 75 to the rookie's 74. I wonder if I were able to boost Weeden to 76 in the preseason if it would stick?

What do u know.... That works. Tedious as hell.... But I'll take it. Time to run these teams the way they should be.

Couldn't care less about XP I want these teams to play how they should.

Since I only play 2-3 seasons I'm not into playing with a league a fake players , I just want to play a good NFL like simulation.

            Time to get to work.

Yeah, it may be stupid to some, but we all have our deal breakers. I was thinking of not buying the full version due to this limitation. This workaround will do fine and I'm going to keep my pre-order.

It's time consuming but I ENJOY going through each team and FIXING what leads to nonsense many complain about with stats and play time ...
You know.... Doing what EA should have done.

Can you have another person play as the opposing team in CC doing this? If so I will keep my preorder.

So does this only work with super-sim? If so, how does the stats look?

And if XP isnt saving, are you seeing guys progress?

does a depth chart change save?

I saw someone comment on the panthers backfield and how they signed two scrubs and started them over stewart and williams, now my guess is, it was preseason and that person maybe didnt realize that the depth charts change in the preseason, but if you wanted to couldnt you just switch to the panthers, change depth chart to how it should be, then switch back if you are a real coach that is?

Assuming no drawbacks; I assume this should allow you to make any trades you want, cut players to craft the rosters as you see fit, and most of the other things that go along with normal 32 team control - as long as you control each team step by step.

This is what a ton of people wanted anyway. Very nice to see there is a workaround for those that want it.
