Slow or Normal?

Did a search and found a bunch of old threads about Madden 10 and 11.

I'm wondering what the Consensus is regarding Game-Speed this year? We're currently having this discussion in both of the Franchises that I'm apart of.

Personally, I feel like "normal" plays extremely fast, while "slow" seems to be more "normal".

I feel like the game is much better on slow... Less unrealistic "video game" movements and better player interactions and tackle animations also.

What are your Thoughts?

I think most people would agree. Normal us much too fast.

Normal plays the way Madden has always played. Slow is boring, IMO.

I think its safe to say that Madden hasn't been very "realistic" these past few years... (not trying to start a war or go off topic, just sayin)

initially i thought normal was too fast, but once you play for awhile you notice normal seems...well..."normal" lol. And you get great responsiveness when playing on normal especially on defense

To me, Madden is as realistic as it needs to be. True realism can be boring and I dont have fun controlling the little slow men on my 65 inch lol. I approach Madden as a video game and thats as far as Im willing to accept it.

Fair enough. I agree, "too real" wont be fun for 99% of the people that play Madden.

If we wanted it to be "NFL Speed" the game would be on VERY FAST lol... That would just be insane.

Exactly! Thats why I think Normal is the perfect balance.

If EA would adjust the speed down to slow (so it seems online) I would adjust to it. People have their preferences and I respect that.

I find the 'slow' speed to make the game a million times better. It reduces a lot of the issues. Playing on slow with a good slider set makes this an awesome game.

I'm very interested to see where this thread goes.

I can't say I'm surprised with the results so far. I think slow has been looked as the better game speed for a few years now. This being the first year we had the option to change it in Online Franchise, I would like to have as many votes as possible on this.

Could we possibly get a sticky? At least for a day or so?

IMO you should have done a poll from very slow to very fast. As many people would vote very slow, as they do slow and normal. Game is way too fast. Looks ridiculous on normal + speed IMO.



I think there are a lot of people who would agree with EA's decision of default speed, even if it was set to very, very, very, very fast. I also believe that if normal first felt to quick, and then became ok over time, it is only because the user got use to it. Not because it is realistic.


If you like faster speeds, that's great. At least admit to yourselves it isn't because it is realistic, it is because you just prefer it.

Anything above very slow has elite speed players running sub-4.0 40s in full pads. But, at the same time, very slow feels a bit sluggish to me.
