The problem with that cedric, is it's the same old song and dance. They've been saying things since 2006 and doing the opposite, so why should anybody listen to anything they have to say? They're like the Bob Arum of video games. "Yesterday I was lying to you, but today I'm telling the truth."

Re: NBA Live 13: The Best Kept Secret in the Universe?
and the underlying issue about the constant drastic changes is that they have the money to scrap entire engines and start fresh each year.Funny thing about the 2k engine is that it sounds like it is still the same one from the dreamcast games! Obviously it hasnt hindered them completely (If true still) but had EA done that.....well I think we know what the outcome would be lol
EA seems to suffer from ADHD since they put something in the game one year, and its missing the next. They introduce an engine one season, and start fresh the next year....Its like they go through extremes because of a little issue, instead of fixing that issue and continually building off of a potential foundation.
You would think that's a good thing but it's actually a double edged sword.2K teams : Rockets,Thunder

Re: NBA Live 13: The Best Kept Secret in the Universe?
When the game is just a little over a month away from due date (Early October) and you've given hardly any information and won't show or talk about your product... i don't know how anyone can have positive feelings about this game.
I don't get the people who are defending EA. They don't care about you. They care about your money. Why are you defending them? In the past 2 years what have they done to make you feel you need to defend them? They realized that 2k had stepped up their game, they were falling behind, tried a name change and a so called "new direction", failed miserably, scraped the game, said they were going back to Live a year ago and have given us no sign of life.
I just find the whole situation comical and especially the people who are trying to defend EA in this situation. I'm more than happy with the product 2k has been putting out and this year looks even better so whether Live comes out or not i don't care. I don't even know why anyone would bother purchasing it over 2k anyway when 2k is hands down the better basketball game unless EA has kept the best secret ever and release a ridiculous product.Comment

The ONLY reason you are mentioning dreamcast here is because of last year when 2K said they been using a modified code of what they used in their Dreamcast days. Noones talked about their engine being the same as during the Dreamcast years. What we know so far about NBA 2K14 - FAQ/QA:

Yep thats the story of EA, i have never posted negate things about 2k on forums. Either the problem was too small or it can be corrected to some degree but EA...You need to scream on forums for them to find their problems and hopefully they Drop in on OS and see what we are complaining about and fix it.When the game is just a little over a month away from due date (Early October) and you've given hardly any information and won't show or talk about your product... i don't know how anyone can have positive feelings about this game.

EA is beginning to crumble because we arent in the stone age anymore and people expect things to be at a certain standard in 2012 and EA still thinks their swindling business decisions are going to be tolerated by fans who are in an age of motion sensor gaming...
In 2006 nobody cared about Madden being awful as long as it had updated rosters and i could play with my Cowboys. But now we know they know better and they still think they can release half assed material and we will flock to buy.
EA Tips for success:
Hire people that actually have a background or understanding of the game your making. Stop having beauty salon hair dressers be the lead designer of Madden...
Stop retooling your game year after year, just tweak and adjust until correct. What is the point of removing things unless their bugs or broken?
Make games catered to sim players and have options for casual players. Im sick of having to drastically change default sliders to get sim play, make the casual fan make the game easier instead of us trying to make it harder. Its easy for a guy to go in and turn all the sliders to 75 to make the game arcade like, but it is harder for us to go in and find the correct numbers for each slider.
And Last but most importantly...WORK WITH THE COMMUNITY TO FIX YOUR GAMES.Comment

Re: NBA Live 13: The Best Kept Secret in the Universe?
I think EA Sports plan for NBA Live with this 3 year plan is to not change direction or be completely reactive. They should have a three year set plan that doesn't reset completely every three years. What I am talking about is the method of always knowing what you are building on and how it fits within the high-level plans for the future. This method will give them the ability to go from making good games to being an industry leader for the future.Comment

Re: NBA Live 13: The Best Kept Secret in the Universe?
I don't think the 3-year plan thing is to actually put a good game within 3 years. It's more to have a (kinda) legitimate "excuse" why the game isn't great this year, and why it's worth the wait.
The only problem with this, is that by the time they put a so-called decent game (in their opinion), it's no longer even an average because times have changed and their game looks dated...again. and so on and on...My Specs:

Talking about NBA Live and the next generation, we actually need to talk about a next generation...of people. Maybe then... No rush. 25 years isn't a long time.My Specs:
