Ratings changing in game?
I haven't followed this Madden at all pre-release. I'm a little bit lost as to something happening in this game. When I look at my depth chart before a game, I have different ratings than I do in game. For example, Joe McKnight goes from being my 4th best RB to my 2nd best. Could somebody explain why this is?Tags: None -
Re: Ratings changing in game?
Ah, cool. Thanks!
Follow up, do size and production grades actually do anything?
Also, is there any way to see their ratings in my scheme BEFORE I'm in a game?
Edit: One more thing: Is the in-game rating the one that shows how they fit my scheme, or the one on the roster page?Last edited by jf28; 09-01-2012, 05:13 PM.Comment

The other poster is actually wrong. The ratings change in that situation either due to DPP or a bug. It depends on how big the change is.Ah, cool. Thanks!

Maybe that poster is not 100% wrong and it is a bug that has to do with schemes. You are saying that within the CC roster screen your players are rated one way, and then when you play a game and go into depth chart from there the ratings change? It could be a bug that does not take scheme into account once in a game (if you understand what I am saying).
Are the ratings from within the game the same ratings from the front end rosters?Comment

On the main roster page:
Shonn Greene - 82
Joe McKnight - 73
Bilal Powell - 68
Terrence Ganaway - 61
On the CC roster page:
Shonn Greene - 86
Ganaway - 71
Powell - 69
McKinght - 58
In game:
Same as the main rosterComment

Re: Ratings changing in game?
Then yes it is a bug. Within the game it is not taking scheme into account. Nothing to worry about its just cosmetic; it won't affect how they play or anythingComment

Re: Ratings changing in game?
It is because of hot/cold streaks and fatigue. Shonn Greene probably is tired or has been struggling a bit while Joe Mcknight probably had a big run/screen play or kick return to light a fire under him.Comment

Re: Ratings changing in game?
No its not. Ratings from the depth chart within a game are the same ratings as the front end rosters. It is not taking scheme into account and just reporting the "baseline" overallComment

Re: Ratings changing in game?
My in game ratings fluctuate from game to game with all players, including the drafted rookies.Comment

Re: Ratings changing in game?
I know they do. But at the start of the game check your ratings. They are identical to a player's base roster ratings. Then throughout the game they fluctuate.
To test it I did this (controlling the Ravens)
I changed my DE schemes to 4-3 speed rushers. Obviously Ngata is not a speed rusher, so his overall dropped to a 78. I then started a game and checked my depth chart. Ngata shows up as a 97 ovr. Wanna guess what his overall is under default rosters?Comment

Re: Ratings changing in game?
Yes, scheme isn't taken into account during the game of course. However, my player's ratings don't always match up to their default roster rating. Whether it is before the game, during, or after, they don't match the default rating.I know they do. But at the start of the game check your ratings. I know that. From my earlier post:

Overalls change due to DPP, but in his case it is the result of a bugComment

Re: Ratings changing in game?
What does DPP stand for?
My changes are usually 1-5 overall points. Occasionally I'll have a guy who is rated very low that will go up 10-15 points if he is on a hot streak.Comment

Re: Ratings changing in game?
If his ratings on the important individual attributes are the same, I wouldn't be concerned about it. Overall rating is mostly cosmetic I believe. But check on the individual ratings to be sure.Comment
