    I think everybody is getting hung up on the words "defensive falls" like it's the only possible outcome of the ankle breaker skill.
    Say "No" to railroaded MC modes.

      How many times do we see someone get dropped in a year?

      How many times do we see someone simply go in the other direction from a crossover and unable to get back in the play just in a regular game?

        Honestly can't tell if this is a post for or against Ankle Breaker, lol.

        But I think too many people are hung up on the idea of someone falling. I don't think the simple result of a crossover with Ankle Breaker will ALWAYS produce a fall.

        However, I would love to see a lot of those animations when a terrible on ball defender goes the other way and can't catch up. I don't care much about the falling...but if I cross you and I know you're playing me WAY too tight to properly guard me, I wanna see that. Especially with Ankle Breaker.

          You would be surprised.

          I've seen plenty Gatorade cups from opponents whoring out stars, and that was only in the first quarter. 2K12 was horrible in implementing fatigue as it should be...but I hope they're hitting the right direction with 2K13. A few of the Team Up people said they saw players hunched over or sweating during their play time.

            I say gotta chill with it a LOT. The whole "it's gotta be precisely like real life" attitude is beyond extreme imo. Especially when we're not talking huge percentage discrepancies.

                For example I would give more sigs to a guy like Battier/Ariza/Noah than elite players like Anthony/Howard/Durant.

                Shane Battier if done proper would look something like



                While even an elite SF like Carmelo Anthony would look like this.

                    The Ankle Breaker can either make you fall, stumble, or have a harder time to recover. I doubt we'll be seeing people falling left and right

                        I don't know what the actual percentage is but I guarantee its at best in the single digits which means Ankle Breaker would give you at best a 2% increase. That isn't gamebreaking

                          I'm not a big fan of artificial attribute boosts.
                          Think about how a boost like that affects a player's OVR. Depending on the attribute, maybe 1 or 2 tops? Not a big increase. If you recall, in Assoc. mode, players would get +1 OVR if their morale was up, which lasted entire games instead of the last 5 minutes or so.

                          1. Can you find 50 instances of a player getting hot for a whole game like that over the past 25 years? Even if you did find 50, that's only twice per year (out of approx 1240 games) that something like that happens.

                          2. My point was just that that SS might give too large of a buff to players. I'd say instead of automagically letting a player stay hot through timeouts and quarter breaks, the player should only have a certain percent chance (maybe 30%) that they retain their heat through being subbed out, timeouts, halftime, etc.

                          He used 8% as a filler figure, to help get an example across instead of using algebra, not because he believed that 8% is the actual rate. Otherwise it would look something like:

                          Let: x = % of crossovers that result in knockdown; y = % buff; z = new % of crossovers that result in knockdown

                          x + (x * y) = z

                          The people saying that the 30% means that people will fall down on 30% of crossovers are obviously not too good at math and/or reading, so I don't think algebra is the way to go, here.

                            i didnt like some of these.ankle breaker for ex. if i break somebody s ankles ill know it s not my ability but because of player's signature skill. it's bad.

                              This makes no kind of sense.

                              If you're playing with a player that has that skill in the first place then it's not really your skill to begin with since they already have an exceptional ball-handling rating to begin with.

                              Of course you're going to cross over someone with D-Will.

                              Or are you telling me you were crossing people up with Derek Fisher and now you're worried about him having ankle breaker?

                                The crossovers are not arbitrary man ... sheesh.

                                All you're doing in the first place is twirling a stick, so what if they added an extra 2-5% increase to its effectiveness ?
