    Best Franchise Mode This Gen?

so with CC out and about for a week or so, you guys have gotten knee deep in it and it seems to be flawed. Along with removing features that many of you guys loved.

Has it surpassed or regressed from past versions this gen?

    scouting?
    the draft?
    menus?
    logic?

I have rented every year since 08 and never purchased it, the franchise mode just never cut it.

Also, some of the thing I personally loved have been axed [the extra point show, yes i loved it] and things i hated have been made better [commentary] and there r still things I haven't seen added [holdouts, assistant coaches, score tickers].

    With that being said.
    best one yet, franchise wise?
I am ready to turn in my copy of madden 07 ps2 and play a next gen madden, preferably 13, but man those user reviews on amazon and here aren't making me feel good as an offline franchise guy.

    help a brother out.

I'm hesitant to recommend getting Madden 13 right away if you're a core offline franchise guy. Connected Careers has its problems. Waiting until a patch is released may be your best move at this point in time.

CCM has a bright future but the current sim stats and scores makes it unplayable for me. I'm hesitant to buy Madden 07.

Best advice for offline franchisee is wait until after Tuesday to see how the patch works. As it is right now, offline is missing some key things from online (xp increase and scheme save issue) that make it not really worth investing time into right now.

        Scouting, the best so far
        Draft, the best so far
        Menus, not very user friendly
Logic, about on par with previous games. It does some things fantastically and some things it stumbles. I would say its a wash given it does a lot of things correctly that past maddens got wrong but different logic issues arise.

If you absolutely have to edit players don't even bother picking the game up. There has already been far too many people that knew editing wasn't in, bought the game anyway and have done nothing but whail to the heavens about how this game does nothing right.

CCM is definitely going to be the future of the career mode in sports game. I can already see the potential growth that will come when they are able to implement the old features back into the game.

However, because of some bugs (none that I consider groundbreaking) and the removal of a lot of a lot of features (which I understand why) stops CCM from being the best we've seen this generation.

I have no doubt though, that it will be the best very soon.

I think it really depends on what you are looking for. If you like to waste time in practices "powering up" your coach or player or get into all the XP stuff, maybe you'll find it better. For me, I am trying like hell to love this game, but so far, it's just not happening. I don't want to waste a half hour to an hour between every regular season game getting "power ups" and manually progressing players. I just sim it all.

What I am looking for is a fully customizable, immersive franchise with good presentation elements. Presentation is a shade better here, but the customization is zilch and you are forced to take over as a coach or player... no more "God" or GM role that allows you to do what you will within "your" league. Feels so very restrictive. The twitter feeds and news stories are somewhat cool and to an extent add some immersion, but they often feel scripted, stale and repetitive... and I'm only in the fourth game of my franchise. Good luck getting a feel for standings and stats... they are so buried in the menus that the rest of the league feels miles away. That is not immersion. Remember when the league schedule was the main menu and you knew who was playing who and who had what record? Add that to the news stories and twitter and you have something.

So far, when you mix that with the many bugs in this game, it just melds into a huge pile of "meh". Gameplay really isn't much better. I've waited for RTP forever and I get a rushed version with so much unnatural activity that I just sit and shake my head. Too bad. Parts of it do feel better, just not better enough. I've heard this was built from the ground up, yet some of the same problems are still there... (super-human-jumping-intercepting linebacker, anyone?)

At the end of the day, I once again spent $60 on something that makes me go Shame on me......

You are right about the menus. It took my awhile to find the league schedule let alone the stats. Also had a hard time adjusting to the depth chart screen as it wasnt easy on the eyes.

I really like NCAA 13's menu and the ESPN.com type screens when looking at stats and standings. I wish these two games shared more things between each other.

Some people will hate Madden no matter how good it gets. OMG you cant edit things. yeah yeah they told us all about that a zillion months ago so why do people still base all their opinions on that? who knows.

Is madden 13 perfect? no. Is it totally freaking awesome? yes.

If they fix the injury bug I will be so happy that I wont touch this forum again until May. Seriously. I just come here to see if there is patch/roster news.

Anybody that does not buy this based on other peoples opinions is missing out and will miss out on a lot in life. People need to form their own opinions.

Best Franchise mode in any gen right here and there is plenty of room for improvement.

Call me a fanboy, an EA lover, or whatever. I dont care. The game is good. seriously.

Online ccm receive almost double the xp compared to offline. I believe upgrade costs are different as well, resulting in a significant balance change to the progression system. Its really the only reason i am running my player ccm online.

Too many things missing, arcade progression system, and too many bugs. No franchise has been great this gen, so Best isn't saying much. It's almost unfair to ask this question this year with ANOTHER direction change that is in it's first year.

This question is probably best asked next year and see if they refine and build upon, adding all that was lost from last year. Next year would be a good time to ask this question.

Just last year offline had a bunch of features that are missing from this year. Now online franchise should never have had to wait this long for a significant improvement. This is the first year that online franchise hasn't been totally shafted.
