Reading through this thread I see a few people complaining about the nets... But I actually like it. In years past the net was like twine and would snap even on shots that were 10 feet or in, which really isnt realistic. This year it seems like the net will only really get that snap if it is a swish from 17+ feet out, which is more realistic.

Re: NBA 2K13 Gameplay Video - Los Angeles Lakers vs. Miami Heat
Since everybody talk about the net...well there are some PC patches for 2k12 that have made the net looks great. To me the net should move a little....and not all the shots are "swishes".Reading through this thread I see a few people complaining about the nets... But I actually like it. On the console version of the game (PS3/XBOX) the net is too much "floaty". That's another reason to buy the PC version along with the console version ^__^Currently playing:

I didn't like the net movement either. As I recall it was the same thing last year when the gamescom videos came out that the net didn't move very naturally but they fixed it for the release.Like the other thread that was locked suggested, there's something wrong with the ball-net physics. The net moves nicely and all that, but something about it seems like it's just a hologram wrapping the ball, and that it doesn't happen in real time.
As if someone shot a video of a ball being shot, then shot a video of the net moving (using a fan?), then combined them together.
Hard to explain, it just doesn't seem real to me.
SpoilerAnd no, it doesn't mean that 2K13 sucks or that I'm not getting it because of that. Geez!
2K does have the best ball physics in basketball gaming so th should have the best net movement too. Sometimes missing a shot can be beautiful just because the ball bounces so naturally.

Re: NBA 2K13 Gameplay Video - Los Angeles Lakers vs. Miami Heat
I think there has to be a happy medium. I'll have to go back and look once more, but there's a Dwyane Wade 17 foot fallaway swish somewhere in that video (a true swish, no slight rim contact) and the net more or less sat still.Reading through this thread I see a few people complaining about the nets... Re: NBA 2K13 Gameplay Video - Los Angeles Lakers vs. Miami Heat
NBA 2k is a amazing game. Always has been, but the last 2 titles have had really been great IMO. This years also looks like a huge step up to me. Graphics are a nice bump, better animations IMO, and some nice extra features too.
I usually don't comment much in the NBA 2k section. I know I can just sit back and receive a nice complete game year after year. These devs do their thing, and their talent always shows in their product
While I would love better looking front row sidelines & coaches, I just can't complain. It's just a really great game. 9+/10Comment

Still haven't fixed crowd eh? Still cheering at tip off for no reason most if not all the ppl in the crowd should be seated until the home team scores or makes a great play...not cheer recklessly for no reason at allComment

Re: NBA 2K13 Gameplay Video - Los Angeles Lakers vs. Miami Heat
Wow, I just watched the gameplay again, and I missed a lot of stuff. The play where lebron crosses Metta, Kobe goes up for the block but is knocked back by Lebron. Love it. I saw zero warping, the physics actually seem realistic, the play at 9:50 steve nash is actually too weak to bump dwade, so weight actually matters. I love the missed alley oops, passes seem a little slow, but I have to actually play the game to judge the passing. I'm so hyped right now, I was distracted watching it a couple of times, but now that I finally sat down and watched it I'm excited. October please (craig voice) hurrup
Nitpick: the Lakers jersey colors are off, but their warmups have the right color lol 6:26ARE YOU LOOKING FOR YOUTUBE CHANNELS DEDICATED TO THE SIM COMMUNITY CLICK THE LINKS BELOW, AND SUBSCRIBE FOR ALL SIM CONTENT.

Re: NBA 2K13 Gameplay Video - Los Angeles Lakers vs. Miami Heat
I get your point and agreed, but what I meant is that players as Donte Greene or Bellinelli were much more useful in 2k11 than players like Tony Allen or Brewer, You could play good defense in 2k11, my point is that you could do it with offensive oriented players as well as with defensive specialists, and that is not realistic at all because you take a lot of value from those players, in my view that was the problem and hopefully it will be ironed out in 2k13 with Signature Skills...I just have to disagree man!
Besides 2k8, 2k11 is my favorite 2k to play online because you were rewarded for positioning on defense...and though there were some funky animations, it served its purpose...
More than a few members have mentioned they had a lot of success with teams like the Bucks and other defensive teams...
I feel you on individual players like T Allen though, once again, I'm hoping sig skills helps with this
Cheers! ;-)Last edited by Guard-ian; 09-08-2012, 02:56 PM.Ignorance is Bliss...Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Gameplay Video - Los Angeles Lakers vs. Miami Heat
this video makes me really excited. the only thing i didn't like in the video was the lack of emotion from when alley-oops were being thrown even though they didn't connect. It would be nice if they even acknowledged the attempt.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Gameplay Video - Los Angeles Lakers vs. Miami Heat
I don't think that was shot clock cheese, because of this
1.Chalmers contested the shot late
2. Steve Nash shot the ball, at a realistic distance.
3. Steve Nash is a great 3 point shooter.
I don't think the shot clock cheese falls under, cheese. Cheese is a exploit that can not be countered or a exploit that works all the time(spin dunks). NBA players hit shots with a hand in their face almost all the time. When I play the cpu, out of 5 times the cpu will hit a shot in their face, about 2 times. I'm okay with that. That's just my opinion, and I doubt most of you will agree with me.ARE YOU LOOKING FOR YOUTUBE CHANNELS DEDICATED TO THE SIM COMMUNITY CLICK THE LINKS BELOW, AND SUBSCRIBE FOR ALL SIM CONTENT.

This is why I hate September (the waiting process) but yet I love it (last month left)
did anyone notice any dribbling differences between the players like wade, bron, and kobe ? Could you tell if the dribbling packages are really gone this year or not ?Comment
