I've been wondering this since 2k announced the control stick. Did people think is was just gna be 2k12 with the alternate control scheme? IMO 2k always changes the game enough to make it feel different whether it's for better or worse.

I always try to not get too excited over 2k trailers because they always look great. With that said I'm am liking a lot of what I am hearin and seeing for this game. Can't wait to get my hands on it

I think the reason why people think 2k13 is the same as 2k12, is because of the visuals not really taking a big step, honestly the game looks the same, just graphically. The changes made graphically will most likely be seen on close ups. I thought 2k12 looked great graphically so I'm not really complaining, and I'm happy the major focus for 2k was fixing and implementing new gameplay features. So that's my opinion on the "it's 2k12" or "I don't see any differences"post. I agree with you that 2k never releases the same product.

I think we've pretty much seen the visuals max out in this generation. It'll have to wait until next gen when we see real refinements in the look, I'm betting.

Hopefully then we'll also see some accurate true to life wingspans on players to boot.

I disagree, even as these consoles "die out" we are getting games like the last of us,Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zero , god of war ascension, watch dogs, etc. Those games are graphically impressive, even me being a PC player. I think the thing that hurts all sports games, is the short development cycle (obviously those games have a longer cycle, that's why their graphics are almost perfected.) So I don't think it's the hardware but the cycle it's self.That's why the graphics haven't taken a giant step, and when they did take that graphical leap, the gameplay was terrible Live 06 and live 07.

So the graphics aren't a gamebreaker for me, because I thought 2k12 was graphically impressive. Not saying I'm happy with the minor changes, especially the art thread that most of us, contributed too. 2k13's graphics are acceptable imo. Also it might be a slim chance that the trailer was a older build, but I doubt that. People that have played the game have said the graphics were great.

they are getting on you because its a simple trailer thats edited to make it look spectacular. This trailer was catered towards casual gamers because every hype trailer is . We saw gameplay befoer this and as you can see its not " highlight reel" exciting like the trailer was. Simple concept 2k takes advantage of every year.

There's plenty more graphical capability they could get, but, like the Madden engine that has players run with no weight and quite robotic, it could be the engine itself that's limited, rather than the tech it's running on.

They know about the wingspan thing, I've brought it up, I'm sure other people have brought it up. The only reason I can imagine it not being fixed is because the longer arms would throw off everything they've built on so far. I'm guessing, could be flat wrong. I dunno.

Also, for me, the look is more than just textures, rendered maps to simulate creasing eyebrows and the like. It's player models themselves, lighting, and the specific way things animate. Don't get it twisted, the game still looks amazing. Everything is smooth and it all fits together nicely. But I just wonder how much more we'll get in that regard the next two to three years when the next gen platforms are rolled out? Or sooner.

To the untrained eye it's JUST a trailer w/ spectacular plays. A lot of us can spot things (albeit small) within the reels that show game improvement. You're actin' like this is CG or somethin'. This is still gameplay...just carefully selected clips.
