Like every year i think its good to have a BUG Thread for the EA Guys.
(MODS can you sticky this one?)


Use this thread to simply post the bug or glitch. I will provide a format to use (if you haven't seen it for the other games).

This thread is strictly for the issue itself and not for discussion. Use the other bugs and glitches thread to discuss them.

This thread is strictly for individuals who simply want to see the issues we are seeing with the game and not wade through pages and pages of discussion.

SITUATION (Regulation/OT/PP etc): game intro
CUSTOMIZATION (Were you using specific sliders/roster edits): started GMC mode with random rosters
DETAILS (Please be as detailed as possible in text): During the game intro, the home team is shown coming out onto the ice twice. The first time they get boo'ed like the visitors, the second time they get the normal home team announcer/cheering.

DETAILS (Please be as detailed as possible in text): During the end game on ice scence it freezes. Need to re start the console

SITUATION (Regulation/OT/PP etc): End of 3rd Period
CUSTOMIZATION (Were you using specific sliders/roster edits): Sliders were at default.
DETAILS (Please be as detailed as possible in text): As the winning team on home ice, the game would go to the end cut scene showing the goaltender or teammates about to congrat the goaltender on the win only to freeze and force me to restart system. Happened all 3 times I played today.
VIDEO (if available): Nope.

DETAILS: As has been documented in a thread on OS, the EA forums and in media reviews penalties need to be fixed. There are too few penalties called (with all the sliders maxed), especially by the CPU. There are blatant penalties (interference, running the goalie, roughing, tripping etc etc) that are not being called resulting in a negative gameplay experience. Penalties are a massive part of hockey and they need to be more prevalent in NHL 13.

It would also help if the cpu would instigate a fight either against a user or itself (in cpu v cpu mode) as this just never happens in coach mode or cpu v cpu mode. No after the whistle activity takes place in cpu v cpu mode or coach mode.

The sliders just don't work, with them all on max you would expect an excessive amount of calls but we are lucky to see 1 or 2 in total per game (this is all-star, 10min periods, all penalty sliders maxed - main penalty slider, cpu penalties and cpu team-mate penalties)

Please can this be tuned so that penalties are called in a much greater number. The product is so good this year that this does detract enormously from the realism factor.

This is from the Gameinformer review if NHL 13. Notice the last sentence.

The major knocks I have about the gameplay this year are largely physics based. Players get knocked down from behind far too often, and the puck physics are wildly inconsistent to the point of being unbelievable. Sometimes the puck loses all momentum when clanging off a post, dropping directly downward. Other times it ricochets off goalie past like it’s being shot out of a cannon. Refs also don’t call enough penalties, even when the slider is maxed out.*

Operation Sports review:
..concerned about the current tuner set in terms of lack of penalty calls, especially interference, but hopefully that can be ironed out soon.

Online pass for NHL 13 has become an issue, my code did not work and a brand new code given to me by an EA support chat member did not work either. This is what I got after the code was deemed invalid.

DETAILS:While playing the CPU, the computer held me against the boards behind the goal line, the glitch was that he was skating next to me not coming up from behind. So, while standing next to each other, both players went into their offensive/defensive board holding animations. The end result being two players standing next to each other holding hands, restricting the offensive player from skating.

Anyone else get the free Gold HUT packs with your pre-order? I redeemed the code and it said my Gold packs would be available, but I'm unable to find them. I believe that I entered the code before I created my team, if that makes a difference.

Anyone else get the free Gold HUT packs with your pre-order? I redeemed the code and it said my Gold packs would be available, but I'm unable to find them. I believe that I entered the code before I created my team, if that makes a difference.

There is currently an issue where users are unable to redeem

I won 20 seconds into OT, slap shot from the point by Boyle. This pissed me off big time... 16 secs left in reg... erggg..
