Some penalties Ive never seen before.

-RG3 gets tackled/pushed while running out of bounds. Called for personal foul, unessisary roughness.

-Nick Toon attempts to catch a pass after running out of bounds. Gets called for illegal touching.

I've never seen these before in madden.

I have, It was early on the Trail version..those were some of the things that prompted me to get this game... i mean they did get those things correct. Also the illegal foward pass you will see it being called, the Personal foul i was surprise it only gets called on the CPU.. i have hit people going out of bound and it doesnt trigger for user..but the CPU does get flagged which is cool thing since they are very aggresive in their hitting trying to cause fumbles.

Illegal forward pass being called is the one I've seen that surprised me the most.

I had a pass interference called on the CPU today!

lol no with this i have not had much luck, Now if i use the Hit stick while controlling the CB or LB on a Zone it will trigger the Hit stick animation and DPI gets called always cause you hit the WR right before the ball gets their... But not the CPU vs USer... Odd at times they make contact five yards down the field with my WR but no call is made...

i had the illegal foreward pass and illegal touching and pi called as well both cmp and me the illegal touching was cool when i saw it on screen.

Has anybody gotten a flag for wasting a punt returning immediately after a fair catch?

Last game I played, I accidentally switched to one of the gunners just as the returner was making the catch. I don't think I hit any other buttons or moved the stick... Only reason I hit any buttons was thinking that I could start trying to skip the presentation crap and get back to the play selection screen... Anyways, immediately after I switch, the gunner just blows up the returner. No flag or anything... But Simms/Nantz started talking about a muffed catch. I looked at the replay and could see no evidence at all that the returned was in the process of fumbling... So not sure if this was just a fluke or some kind of glitch.

penalties I'd like to see:

Defensive holding (defenders should attempt this if in proximity to the receiver and are beat on the play )
horse collar (should be rare)
Specifics of roughing the passer i.e. hit to the head
illegal contact (would deter users that like to run receivers off their routes after the legally allowed 5 yard)
hit on a defenseless receiver (won't ever happen)

Mistakes I'd like the computer to make occasionally:
Delay of game....every team aside from one Peyton Manning is on has at least one occasionally and at least once a game until the team is either in a rhythm (e.g. Atl or Balt running no huddle to get a rhythm because of low offensive output in a first qtr where they had 2 possessions wouldn't often get this call.) or forced into four and two minute offensive situations. This would add a little realism to the offline ai, but they have to fix it's play calling first.

Same here and penalties actually add so much more immersion to game that I just don't understand why the devs will not tune them better. The DPI call was on me and as soon as it was called all i could say was "wow, good call ref" because I knew I did it. I just don't get why this can't happen consistently because like in real life, these calls/penalties will cause gamers to play differently.

They are attempting to represent football in Madden but fail to better implement rule enforcement. That just will not work and I played someone that would intentionally try to hit stick my players, after they were out of bounds, just because he could. After a ball carrier runs out of bounds, the User loses control but the other player still is able to hit stick you. I think that's fine but it would be great to see late hits called online and ejections for excessive personal fouls.

I've had unnecessary roughness and illegal forward pass. I have not once seen in my entire life of playing madden and I go back to the 1st madden, I have never seen offensive pass interference on the CPU tho. I MAY have seen it once on a human.

Yesterday after downloading the patch was playing the cpu, threw a back shoulder pass to Marshall on the sidelines and the corner stuck his arm in getting tangled up with him drawing the pass interference call. Very realistic looking and hoping to see more things like this.

I had this called once in my last game Brees didn't get the play off in time. First time I have ever seen it called on the cpu in the 20 years of Madden

Have you seen clipping in this year's Madden? I have clipping set to 100 and still have not seen it called once.
