What are some pros and cons for private online ccm vs offline?

One advantage that I've heard is that they can apply coding fixes directly to the servers so you don't have to wait for a patch.
One con would be the dreaded disconnect from the EA Sports servers. You lose any unsaved progress.
I think the not waiting for a patch pushes me towards the online.

The biggest thing from what I've heard is that sliders actually work in online CCM, which is why I just started a online private ccm. Hopefully it's true, it's the first time I play any madden online for any reason, even if it is by myself.
Schemes also save, which was an annoying thing about offline.

Yes you can. You also get to watch all your games go for nothing when you get a random disconnect. You also can't save before a game and then leave if you are playing a game and get hit with injuries. There's no advantage of playing online except for some promise of faster patches.

I've been playing various online CCM's since day one and have yet to have ANY disconnects. Plus with an online CCM you have to ability to use the connected careers website(still in beta but still pretty cool) which is not available to offline CCM's. Oh, and there is no lag whatsoever....ever. I can't think of any reason at all actually not to have an online over an offline CCM.
I promise you, I wouldn't recommend it at all if I felt it wasn't the better option.

it doesn't even have to be private with a password. just create a public one set to 1 user team only.

I apologize if this was answered before, but do you need Xbox Live Gold subscription to use CCM, even if doing it as a single player thing? I only play offline, and I have no interest in getting a Gold subscription, so if it is required, then CCM would not be open to me anyway. Thanks!

The only reason, and I mean the ONLY reason I play a solo CC is for the tuning they can do or CLAIM they can do.

But I firmly believe minimal if any tuning takes place and EA just wants to pad online numbers with exclusivity nearing it's end....

Yes, you need gold to use the CCM online.
