    The Lambeau Chronical

Welcome to the official thread for the OS SFL Green Bay Packers. Here you may find previews, reviews, interviews, and any other views you may be thirsting for.

This organization is controlled by one man, F0RL3F CLOV3R. Due to character restraints within coach generating options, he has taken on a new name, Forlef Clover. For those interested, the first name is now pronounced four-left (minus the T). This name was given to coach from Truth's mother the night he gave her lock jaw and she couldn't speak properly... Moving on...

    The Offense:

Green Bay continues to be led by Aaron Rodgers ever since the Ol Gunslinger left Green Bay. Aaron has developed into the most elite QB in the league and has set numerous records already in his early career. With a ironman mentor like Favre, you can only imagine what he learned. Aaron now has weapons that Favre never had such as numerous top tier receivers, versatile TE's, and a coach who knows how to win. The one thing lacking right now that Favre always had was an offensive line. Look for GB to shore up the offensive line especially on the blind side where Marshall Newhouse is currently stationed. In the offseason GB thought it would be best to release long time Packer Chad Clifton but in return pick up a different OL position need, the center, and go and sign Jeff Saturday. If GB has a good year in the SFL this season, the offense is what will carry them.

    The Defense:

The Defense for the Packers are rated solid but the play isn't there. Clay Matthews, arguably the best defensive player on the team (regard to Charles Woodson) was almost irrelevant last season since that was the only pass rush the Packers had for opposing teams. In the offseason, GB spent nearly all their picks on defense including lineman, linebackers, and defensive backs. First round pick Nick Perry who also came from USC as did Clay looks to have a great rookie season and possibly compete for defensive ROY. Charles Woodson has moved to safety after the possible career ending injury Nick Collins suffered and he is looking to bring his heisman and defensive POY skills to the new position.

    Prediction:

F0RL3F knows nothing about going under .500 nor anything about exceeding .500. The obvious record prediction would be .500 based on previous seasons results but I am going out on a limb and saying 10-6 with either a wildcard berth or the division crown.

    Breaking News:

What is Asante Samuel worth you ask? Well the Packers have the answer as they have just completed a trade before their week 1 preseason game to send Asante Samuel to Green Bay for Sam Shields and his 97 speed as well as GB's 2nd round pick this year and their 5th and 6th the following year.

Asante Samuel will be immediately taking over a starting role for the Packers opposite Tramon Williams. This duo is sure to be a menace to the SFL community.

        GB Trade Block

        WR James Jones (79 OVR)
        DE Ryan Pickett (85 OVR)
        FB John Kuhn (86 OVR)
        DT B.J. Raji (85 OVR)

Do not post your offers on this page, send me a private message or an Xbox message.

GB is looking to get cheaper off of the trade, ideally draft picks but I may accept a lesser contract as well.

            Harrell out, Coleman in

In a surprising move, coach Clover has benched Graham Harrell and has decided to give the backup QB position to rookie BJ Coleman out of Chattanooga of Tennessee. Coleman transferred from the U of Tennessee for more playing time and excelled enough to be chosen in the 7th round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Now a rookie, Coleman is slotted behind the best QB in the league. If Aaron goes down, BJ needs to step up and the organization thinks he can handle the load. (pause all of that last sentence)

            In other news:

The GB trade block continues to grow as they look to create some cap space.

Aaron Rodgers is not the best QB in the league with you controlling him, not even close.

                Trade Block Update

Rumors are swirling that BJ Raji and James Jones as well as the rest of the trade block are being offered in package deals to other teams. In return Green Bay is looking for anyone from young guys to veterans with low salaries and or expiring contracts in 2013, or draft picks. Anyone interested, please send in your offers, Green Bay is hoping to have this trade completed before week 1 for their in-season trade.

Welcome to the 2012 SFL Regular Season

Green Bay had a rough preseason losing all three of their user played games. Aaron Rodgers and the first team offense looked rusty but states they are prepared for the regular season.

The backups were awful including both quarterbacks who were released after the week 4 preseason game. The Pack picked up veteran QB Kevin Kolb who was recently released from Arizona. Kevin will be learning the playbook and hopes he doesn't see the field but if he does he better be ready.

                  Notable Free Agent Releases:

                  DE Ryan Pickett
                  FB John Kuhn

                  Notable Free Agent Signings:

                  DE Aaron Kampman
                  QB Kevin Kolb

Green Bay kicks off the regular season with a visit from Dubb and the SF 49ers.

I had to give you regard for having a perfect qb rating vs the stacked 49ers defense.

                        Week 1: 49ers at Packers

                        49ers 14 - Packers 33

The Green Bay Packers are 1-0. In the week 1 matchup at legendary Lambeau Field, two strong teams, the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers battled it out all game long.

                        Offense:

The unexpected surprise of this game was the play of newly acquired HB Deji Karim. Karim carried the ball for 88 yards which really was a surprise to many after the dreadful preseason play of Cedric Bensen. Aaron Rodgers and the offense looked to be in form to win many more games. Aaron Rodgers finished this game with a near perfect passer rating of 156.2 off of 12-16 passing, 250 yards, and 3 TD's which included a 63 yard pass to the man the Packers are trying to resign, Greg Jennings. Greg Jennings showed why he is so valuable by bringing in 3 catches for 83 yards and a TD.

"When we needed Greg to make a play, he did. That's typical Greg, I know that, coach knows that, but its not up to us if we keep him. Greg's a difference maker, everyone in the league knows that." - Aaron Rodgers when asked the impact Greg Jennings has and the rumors swirling about the team possibly trading Jennings.

                        Defense:

The Green Bay defense played great against Alex Smith and the 49ers offense racking up 5 QB tackles and 4 interceptions. Rookie LB Nick Perry led the team with 5 tackles including 2 QB tackles. Clay Matthews played lights out accumulating 4 tackles, 1 QB tackle, 1 interception, and 1 forced fumble.

Good game to Dubb and the 49ers. Next week the Packers remain at home when Quazi and the rival Chicago Bears come to town. This will be the first matchup of many between Quazi and F0RL3F.

                            GB Packers Mid-Season Report

After 8 weeks in to this excellent SFL season, the Green Bay Packers are sitting at 5-3 and shockingly at the bottom of the toughest division, the NFC North. The year is a tale of two completely different stories, one of the #2 ranked offense and other of the #28 ranked defense.

                            The Offense:
The Packers started off the year winning their first two games including an expected loss against a defending SFL champion owner in Dubb. The offense was red hot mainly due to a solid rushing performance by FA pickup Deji Karim. Karim was top 5 in almost every rushing category until a season ending injury halted him in his tracks. Aaron Rodgers and the passing game have been money all year long. A couple games, which resulted in losses, were a defenders dream as Rodgers threw multiple interceptions. Besides that though, Rodgers has been lights out spreading the ball all over the field with pin point accuracy. Week 8 was his best week yet throwing a 6-0 TD-INT ratio of which all 6 TD's connected with newly resigned WR Greg Jennings (an NFL record). Jennings had only 10 total catches but managed to secure pay dirt on 60% of those grabs. Currently Jennings sits near the top of the SFL in yards and TD's but not receptions. Week 8 was Coach 4Leaf's best statistical game in over 4 SFL seasons. Week 8 was so lopsided that some may have questioned if cheese tactics were involved but as the opponent can contest to, it was nothing of those sorts. "None of the TD's were inside the redzone, it was just Greg making plays and getting in those Lambeau leaps, Mathis just had no answer." -Aaron Rodgers on Jennings record breaking day.

                            The Defense:
What a horrid start. Offseason acquisition CB Asante Samuel has been nothin more than average as he continues to show why he was given up so easily from Atlanta. The Packer defense is blowing pause the teams chances of taking this in to the playoffs with this play. The second half of the year requires the defense to step up because another 5-3 showing may not put us in the playoffs.
