Is there a way to do "coach" mode

I'm only just now getting into next-gen madden and picked up 13. Previously I was always the kind of player who enjoyed coach mode thoroughly in previous iterations and noticed you can do it for Play Now but you can't do what used to be "coach mode" in Connected Careers as a coach.

To compensate, is there a way to relinquish control so that you don't play as the QB when on offense but still be able to do Connected Careers as a coach - so that running the offense can still be somewhat "coach mode" like. I love the whole franchise-esque aspect of Madden, but I actually don't want to play as I'm a pretty horrible thumb jokey and I want things like who my QB is to really matter (as I find that playing as the QB skews away from that).

Re: Is there a way to do "coach" mode

A lot of us have been beating-the-drum to get 'Auto-Pass' (at the very least) enabled for CCM in the upcoming patch; the EA development team is aware of our request.

Josh Looman, Donny Moore, & Dan Bekins all played large roles in the development of NFL HEADCOACH'09, so I can't imagine that they purposely left coach-mode out of CCM in Madden'13; hopefully it was just an oversight that can be corrected relatively easily.

In the meantime, I've been getting my 'coach-mode' fix by playing CCM with my roommate; I call all of the plays, he executes them...it's a surprisingly fun way to play the game.

Re: Is there a way to do "coach" mode

I have recently setup a new site – coachmode.com, to try to make a home (in addition to the info found here and other forums) for all of us coachmode or manage only mode players out there. Have been meaning to do it for a few years now - and have finally gotten around to it. Right now there is nothing (as in nothing at all) there…but check it out and if you’re interested in being involved join the community - and hoping for this being back "in the game" in Madden 14! Just thought I would let everyone know....

They clearly left it out of the game to be able to bring it back so that you buy the game again next year. They didn't just remove something from the series as an "oversight", that much is obvious.

There is true coach mode in Madden Ultimate Team, I believe.
