Most FRUSTRATING loss EVER Thread (NCAA 13)!!!

I am told that it is therapeutic to share one's pain after a traumatic event. My most recent Online Dynasty (vs. CPU) game has left some serious scars and I am in need of sharing and maybe even some therapy. If you can relate to this story, I plead with you to post (misery loves company).

I introduce to you, the World's Most Frustrating NCAA 13 loss EVER:

I am playing as my beloved UVA Cavaliers. We are 5-0 with notable wins over Georgia Tech and TCU. Our next opponent is against the 2-3 Duke Blue Devils. No sweat I think. Just play within my means and get the "W".

The first half for the most part goes as planned. I am up 14-0 with about 1 minute left in the half. Duke though shows signs of life and moves the ball to the 50. On a desperation pass, Duke hurls a deep ball to a man who is double covered, however, Duke comes down with it and rolls into the end zone for a score. Thus, it is only 14-7 at half and I clinch the controller in frustration (I think they call this foreshadowing of bad things to come).

The 3rd quarter goes pretty well for me and I score a nice touchdown and go up 21-7. I feel pretty confident going into the 4th quarter. This is where things begin to fall apart...

Duke rallies in the 4th and scores to make it 21-14. We go back and forth a couple times and I punt the ball back to Duke with less than two minutes to go.

In one of those patented EA "the computer is going to march the ball down the field and there is nothing you can do about it" drives, Duke pounds the rock. With less than a minute left, they toss the ball deep to a man who is TRIPLE covered and they come down with it, he spins, and scores!

It is 21-21 with about 45 seconds left.

Feeling a bit of panic, I toss a few precision strikes and get down to the Duke 20. With mere ticks on the clock, I put up a field goal and go up 24-21!! I let out a huge sigh of relief for not losing to a lesser opponent.

BUT there is 0:07 on the clock and I have to kick the ball back.

I kick the ball deep (I know, I know, should have squibbed it). The ball goes 2 yards deep into the end zone and the Duke returner brings it out.

0:06 - he gets to the 20, makes a spin move, breaks a tackle

0:05 - he gets to the 30, following his blockers who open up a seam

0:04 - he is at the 50, the kicker makes a desperation dive and misses

0:03 - he is at the 40 and in the clear - nothing but field in front of him

0:02 - The Band Is On The Field, The Band is On The Field!!

0:01 - he is at the 5 and he is going to score

0:00 - he is in, Duke Wins! Duke Wins!

I lost the game 28-24 with no time left by giving up a game winning 102 YARD kick return for a TD....I have never, ever been so humilated in my life.

I am going to take a break from NCAA 13 for awhile...maybe go get some fresh air or hug my dog. One can not shake the horror I have witnessed without some time for it all to process.

IF you can top this, please, please post.

I can't top that but I thought I was going to loose my last game with a Kyle Williams-like punt return fumble. Luckily on of my other guys was nearby and fell on it. I play coach mode and hate the fact that you can't fair catch.

Only one I've had was in my first game of my RTG QB.

Went to Arizona to start as a freshman. Opener vs Toledo we are ahead 28-7 going into the fourth and they turn full god mode. End up losing 35-31. Was not a happy camper.

Ended season 13-1 with a NC.

I had a Red River Shootout like that recently but in my favor...

it was a shootout all game long, back and forth. If I scored then they marched down and scored back, if I got stopped then I would find a way to stop them the next drive.

finally with around 2 minutes left in the game I get a qb sack/fumble and I have the ball inside the 10. run,OU-to, run, OU-to, run, OU final TO and kick a 19 yard fg but there are 30 seconds left in the game and OU.

I squib and the returner gets it around the 8 yard line with a swarm of defenders bearing down. he is touched once as he breaks outside on actually pretty good blocking... TD and now they lead by 4 with only around 15 seconds left on the clock.

they boot it deep and Marquis Goodwin takes it at the goalline, I start straight up the field and then magic happens as I actually see a perfect lane open up and am actually able to hit the hole. 100 yard TD, untouched and I made sure to angle back across the field to be 100% sure that I cross the goalline with absolutely 0 time left... win by 3 and finally able to sit back down on my couch.

I've had a few games similar. It's the reason I go ALL OUT for the power kickers/punters. Kick the KO 5 yards out of the back of the endzone.

yep I used to get power kickers and sky the kick to force returns but after giving up more TDs than I'm used to I figured I'll just kick the danged thing deep.

I was using Kentucky at home vs Western KY and I sent the game to OT tied at 24. I got the ball first and scored and made my extra point. Then western got the ball and scored and there crazy coach calls a WR screen throw back to the QB and my defense was shocked as the QB walked into the endzone!!!!

I wish that this happened on NCAA 13 instead of EspnU on saturday

Miami and FSU(me). I score with 2:00 left to take the lead by 4. Miami drives down to the 8yard line with 19 seconds left. First down incomplete, 2nd down qb scrambles to the 2 yard line. 3rd down spike. 4th down with 2 seconds left he rolls out lobs it back corner and the receiver catches it but out of bounds by an inch and I win 27-23. I almost threw my controller multiple times in this game as they racked up 39 carries for 300+yards. But this is 2015 so they have a different offense at this point. Good story so I figure I would add.

Not NCAA 13, but in '12 I lost a close one between Texas and Oklahoma. I was Texas and it was an offensive showdown the whole game. I had the ball at the Oklahoma 1 Yd line with 2 seconds left on the clock. A touchdown would tie the game and send it into overtime. I had a wide open receiver in the back of the end zone and my QB threw a rainbow over his head and out the back of the end zone. Game over.

I was ready to freak out, but it was a fun and challenging game!

Not a video game, and probably already seen by most, but it relates to frustrating losses:

Probably not my most frustrating loss ever, but one that gave me a wide range of emotions:

                          NCAA 13, by the way:

I'm playing a Dynasty as Kansas on Heisman with sliders tweaked. I'm undefeated going into the TCU game, which is the 3rd game on the schedule, so I'm 2-0. A mighty feat considering I'm using KU.

We're going back and forth, and I'm down 32-29 with less than a minute left. I throw a HB screen, break a tackle and run for a TD with about 25 seconds left. I'm now up 36-32, they have no TOs left and I'm kicking off. I'm thinking, "This is over! Upset!"

I kick it out of the back of the endzone so TCU can't run one back on me and they start on the 25. First play: 15 yard gain to the 40. "Figures", i say to myself as I cuss my horrible defensive backs. Next play they gain 10 yards and spike the ball with 3 seconds left.
They're on the 50 with 3 seconds left and I think I'm home free.
They heave up a Hail Mary pass and instead of my CBs and Safeties jumping to knock the ball down, they just stand there and TCU's WR catches it for the game winning TD. I tried and tried to make my guys jump, but they just wouldn't. The jump and the swat ball buttons failed to work on that play, so I lost.

Safe to say that I didn't play NCAA again for a few weeks after that. Then started my current dynasty with Wisconsin.

My most frustrating came from NCAA 12.
I was playing in my road to glory as the florida gators and the starting QB. We were undefeted going in to the game against alabama who had lost 3 games by alot leading up to this game. We were ahead leading into the 4th 28-14. The comback started and they went ahead 35-28 with a minute left. We get the ball and move down field.

We get into the redzone at about the 5 and my running back scores but theres a flag for holding so the next play I hit my te who was uncoverd for a td yet agin holding. Next play we get back to the 5 and the next play my running back scores but yet another flag but at least they changed it up this time Clipping. The last play with about 5 seconds left I took my last chance and i thorw to a wide open wr but the CB run the length of the endzone to some how Warp through my WR to pick it off to close out the game.

I mean every time we scored it was called back pluse the CB who picked off the pass in the endzone was completly on the other side of the endzone when I threw it to my wide open player who was basicly right infront of me but the CB seemed like he somehow turned into speed racer or something. the Cpu should have just started the game by handing me a jar of vasaline. Sometimes I think its pre determand if you are going to win or lose It kept me out of the NC game.
