i'm just not ready to take 2k's word again based of 2k12 so i'm just overly critical now. i really don't like when devs bs around. like with uncharted 3 we've been pushing to get more color options but they had some lame excuses like people wouldnt know who their teammates where when your teammates have green names and enemies have red.

im not even convinced they truly fixed my player like they claim

Completely off-topic...but I just had to comment on this. That is FAR from a lame excuse. In fact, this is a prime example of why people are paid to design games and need to filter out 95% of the noise from the internet.

Sure, 2k knows how many people played crew in 2k11, but what 2k doesn't know is how many people didn't buy 2k12 solely because there was no crew. The only reason that I played my player in 2k11 was that there was a reward, having a good player to compete with online. I, alone, have 2 friends that didn't buy 2k12 just because there was no crew. If I didn't have so much fun with offline quick matches and the occasional online h2h, I would do the same.

Not true. Major companies have a pretty good idea of who is buying, not buying, and why. That's their job. WE are the ones that don't know. What's true for you is not necessarily true for the majority. Don't assume you have your pulse on the world. And for the record, 2k12 sold quite a bit. Just as much as expected if not more.

Just to clear something up that some of yall don't seem to get:

- Being a fan a Crew doesn't necessarily mean you're a fan of the hacked version of Crew. It means the concept is genius but was poorly implemented in 2K11.

- To trash talk Crew is to trash talk THE MOST realistic FORMAT when you compare it what actually takes place in real life basketball.

The Crew format = you controlling yourself, with human teammates, vs other humans controlling their my player. (league setting is best to mirror rec leagues, organized ball, etc)

Real life basketball = same thing

Real life basketball = NO BOTS. Sorry Association people. There's no robots I see on the court when I go play pickup or 24hr fitness. You rely on REAL CHEMISTRY and how to be the best HUMAN not the best "I Can jedi mind control 5 players at once"

If im not mistaken you can get that same experience in team up....

I should feel some sort of way that they took out crew 2 years in a row,
But I don't. My crew finished rank#2 on the leaderboards for Xbox 360
And I finished rank#2 overall on the overall leaderboards for 2k11 and rank#3 on 2k10. Honestly this doesn't come as a surprise. All the people whine and complain about how crew mode is irrelevant, too many hacks and remember when 2k11 first dropped they had a bounty system on the forums snitching on my players who achieved a 99 overall my player within the 1st month of the games' release?

Y'all did this... Don't act brand new. Yeah the game mode was flawed, but no different than any other mode on there. So whether crew is out because there wasn't enough time, or because of online issues, or because they couldn't do anything about hacks, the point is its gon and were gonna have to deal with it. I blame you clowns in the forums for constantly complaining as much as I blame 2k for being that naive as to think that myteam mode was a better use of time to implement than returning crew mode to its glory.

The real question for me is since 2k took down the 2k11 Crew servers down in August, are they going to bring them back as a consolation to their fans?

you can complain OR download Live, either way move on. The game is still much better than 2K12. And why throw in a mode where ppl cheat all the time if you don't have the time to get it right? Good choice imo

you do realize people cheat in online ranked matches right? pulling the plug while they never get a disconnect on their stats.

pulling the plug in and out so they can intentionally lag the game.

i havent played a top 300 online ranked person yet that didnt CHEAT to win. NEVER EVER. So should they get rid of online ranked matches as well?

Exactly smh its a reason the top 10 crews were damn near unbeatable and it isnt because they were all just that good. I played on a top crew and ive seen how it goes. I will admit myself a had a hacked player a 6'8 pg and a 7'0 SF. A 7'5 center. I played with reasonable hieghts for each position although im not making excuses for having a hacked 99 not having one was basically a death sentence. Its like if you get into a fight and your opponent throws dirt in your eyes am i going to cry and say hey your cheating...no im going to ADAPT. However i do take pridr in the fact i never did any bs or cheese moves or used a player aboved 7'5.

what i'm saying is , people CHEAT and abuse exploits in every single mode in this game. WHy? because some guys just cant take losing and they will do whatever it takes to win. to them thats fun. the win. not the actual game itself. the win.

to me a video...GAME is supposed to be just that. a GAME = FUN. no matter who wins. if i lose i still have a feeling of FUN.

of course it will feel that much better if i win while having fun. you cant beat that combination.

but the point people use as a reason for crew getting booted is because of exploit abusers, whatever that exploit may be. is NONSENSE . cause if that were the case they shold've shut dwon online ranked matches years ago. way to many cheesers/exploit abusers in the top 300s or more. and everyone knows it.

Based on what from 2k12? You say bs around, when they actually said nothing. But that's how EVERY game maker works. If they don't say it's there, then it's not there. But it seems you are set to see this in the most negative light and that's your prerogative. The only way you'll be convinced of anything is to see for yourself. So it's on you now. Crew wasn't ready. It's not coming. People can either deal with it and enjoy what really makes the game good, or not. It's that simple. But don't try to paint this as some huge lie or game at your expense.

i played blacktop way more than crew anyway so I'm glad they brought that back and have improved it so we can finally invite friends and we DON'T have to worry about any hacked players !

1. 3v3 (you & 2 friends with no random ballhog on your team)
2. you can invite friends this time
3. you can't hack players cause its server based

I'm more than satisfied and the crew players should be lucky they can even do that. Crew wasn't even in 2k until 2k10 anyway so what did you love about 2k in the first place ? The only game mode that should get this much rage about being taken out is "Association" which has been in the game from the beginning imo.

I dont quite understand what you are getting at. Are you sYing crew should be left alone because people cheat in every game mode?...and i agree there will always be cheesers but in crew ir was taken to a whole nother level you cant denie that. And your right a game is supposed to be fun but losing is not fun when you play against somebody you know you should beat. I don't mind losing to some of my boys but when I lose to some douchebag with an 8'5 (>_<)

I never played crew. I sympathize to those that miss it, because I know how it'd feel if they took out MyPlayer or Association.

Hopefully they just couldn't make it to the finish line, but I'm pretty darn sure they worked on getting it in, at least in the Alpha stage. This is an opportunity, however, for you guys to play the other modes, no matter how much you're not into them. If you like bball video games, you'll still probably have more fun than playing nothing at all. Heck, you might find yourself a new favorite mode to enjoy while you wait for '14!

No, what made the game good was BASKETBALL! If folks can't see that, then there is no point in continuing this. Agree to disagree that we want completely different games. Basically, Crew mode was a dog and pony show for My Player if that is the case. May as well played frisbee as long as you could use your player, with your boys, with your jersey, being ranked. Actually going to war with your boys with a player you developed playing actual basketball is secondary I guess.

First, your "every game has cheats" argument is flimsy at best. So what? Using an exploit is one thing. Straight up hacking a player to a point where they completely BREAK the game and laws of reality is quite another. Knowing you worked to build your player only to get tooled by someone that completely circumvented that process ILLEGALLY (yes, read your end users license agreement) goes far beyond being annoyed. And you know this. Are you arguing just to get attention?

As for "we said it should be fixed this way", don't flatter yourself. That fix requires an investment that should have never been necessary. So don't act as if a top developer didn't know how to fix it. They just didn't know they needed to go that route. If it was PS3 only, we wouldn't be having this discussion, would we?
