Barring any injuries here or just extremely uncharacteristic play from the Steelers, I don't see the Raiders winning this one, or it being close by the 4th quarter. But it is the Raiders, who always love to give the Steelers troubles so I'll say...

    Steelers - 30
    Raiders - 17
    NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
    NBA: Dallas Mavericks
    MLB: Texas Rangers
    NHL: Dallas Stars
    NCAA: Alabama Crimson Tide

If the Dolphins can spank the Raiders with a Rookie QB then the Steelers should be able to beat the Raiders easily.

Two things to consider. First, the Raiders have lost both of their mediocre starting corners. With what they have for backups they would do just as well to start nobody at corner. 73 year old Willie Brown could put a uniform on and play better than the corners they started the season with.

Second thing is for the past three years the Raiders have kept things fairly close the first half, but have totally fallen apart the second half on both offense and defense. This year has been no exception. Without anybody to play corner Big Ben is going to shred them the first half. And when the Raiders fall apart the second half the Steelers are really going to pile up the points. I see the Silver and Black maybe even going scoreless. But l'll be generous:

        Steelers 48
        Raiders 3

Raiders vs Steelers. Puts a smile on my face. The Oakland Raiders were the first team I was taught to hate. Not Cleveland, or Dallas, or Cincinnati, or the Oilers. The Ravens didn't exist yet and the Patriots still had that goofy logo on their helmets. I was told tales of greased up jerseys and footballs with profanities written on them. But unfortunately the Raiders have become a punchline the past 10 years. That being said the Steelers have won a grand total of 3 times in the Black Hole so these games still make me leery. It'll be close.

          Raiders 19
The New England Patriots cheated to win four Super Bowls.

Its crazy because Carson Palmer has been playing pretty well, the problem is that mcFadden is healthy an isn't producing anything at all on the ground.

Carson's been ok, he's missed on some makeable throws and the receivers just aren't that great. Been dropping plenty of catchable balls and not enough big plays w/ the passing game. Greg Knapp's already on the hot seat, the zone blocking scheme doesn't seem to be working for DMC and the run game at all.

That and we're bringing guys off the street to play corner. Big Ben and the Pitt receivers should have a field day. Only hope is that the run game gets going to keep Pitt off the field. If that doesn't happen, it will be a blowout.

No Harrison, Mendenhall or Polamalu for the Steelers, once again. The Steelers have a bye next week so I assume they're just gonna hold them out until after the bye.

Winning in Oakland for them has never been easy, so nothing here makes me think otherwise. They've lost the last 3 times they've traveled to California. They're going into the black hole against a team that is desperate not to start out the season 0-3.

Maybe this is the game Dmac embraces the new zone blocking scheme?

Maybe Ben throws some pick 6's like last time?

                  I expect a nail biter.

Can you name our starting CBs? Here's a hint - they let Brian Hartline get 9 for 111 yds last week.
