Yes it's so good because teams know they can't get through Dwight Howard I mean there's a reason why he is a four time All Defensive First Team. Who do you think they have voting up their for that award ******s? I don't think so. Sure sometimes they get by Dwight Howard, But D-12 comes back knowing what they have already done to get past him & won't work twice on him. So who do you think is the best Defensive Low Post player in the league today?

This exchange between OJ and Raul has me dying lol. Perfect example of the two types of basketball fans. Same lanuguage, different levels of fluency.Comment

I think Dwight probably is the best defense player of all the big men in the league.. But as far as 1 on 1 inside defense and being able to contain their match up? Kevin Garnett is very good at that, Ibaka looks like he will be soon, Kendrick Perkins, Duncan was sensational at that but his old age somewhat hinders him now.. Guys like Ben Wallace is his Detroit days....Yes it's so good because teams know they can't get through Dwight Howard I mean there's a reason why he is a four time All Defensive First Team. Give me your top 5 1 on 1 inside defense in the post for the 11-12 season.I think Dwight probably is the best defense player of all the big men in the league.. I seriously wish I still had synergy. Guess it's time to renew it this season.Comment

Top 5 just off the top of my head?... Uhhh Perkins, KG, Noah is probably in there, Varajao actually isn't bad either, Ibakak is on his way their, Duncan is still effective, Bogut is pretty good as well.. - those are in no particular order..
Again I don't want you to run with this and think I'm saying that any of these guys are better defenders than Dwight, because that's not what I'm saying at all.. But defense doesn't apply to just one area, same as offense.. Example: LeBron is probably the best offensive player in the league, but is he a better shooter than guys like Ray Allen or even Melo? No he's not, that's the same concept I'm applying here to this argument.Comment

Stats don't always tell the whole story.. I just explained this like 3 posts back.. You can learn a lot more from the little things and watching them play than you ever can from staring at a stat sheetComment

Stats don't always tell the truth or mean anything if that player doesn't have the hunger, or motivation to win a ring, or to go & give his 100% to the team for every game. Serge Ibaka may have averaged 3.7 Blocks per game for the 11-12 season, but where were his blocks when you needed them the most in the NBA finals? Does it mean because he lead the league in blocking per game that he is going to be the best Paint defender in the league? No.Comment

I don't think he will be either, I like his game and I like the Thunder but he still has lots of work.. He's improving very nicely thoughStats don't always tell the truth or mean anything if that player doesn't have the hunger, or motivation to win a ring, or to go & give his 100% to the team for every game. I like Ibaka too, I personally think that some stats are very useful while some are not. I hate when on other forums people bring up irrelevant stats like TS% and ect. I do however believe some stats such as team defensive stats can really tell people how a team/ player is playing rather then an "eyeball" test. But as always if you don't watch the NBA often you really shouldn't refer to stats unless you have the knowledge to back it up.

Synergy is a great deal just as a NBA fan. Great alternative to NBA Broadband League Pass for around the same price, especially since half the games I want to see on League Pass are blacked out.
Yeah you have to use both the eye test and the stats. Eye test helps you explain context, and stats help you remove any prejudice or biases you inevitably will get just by only watching games.I like Ibaka too, I personally think that some stats are very useful while some are not. You only use stats to support your arguments though?I like Ibaka too, I personally think that some stats are very useful while some are not.
