True. Honestly, my Association stats are always F'd up one way or another. I strive for realism so it's pretty annoying. I'm always waiting on someone to fix the game for me.

It irks me seeing about 25+ players averaging 20 points or more. Sounds like a minor thing, but when everone starts demanding these huge contracts, teams can't sign them and you get quality players just sitting in free agency. Association needs some love.

The only thing I play is association. Takes a lot of time adjusting tendencies and the like to get the simulation as accurate as possible. But I want my experience to be as realistic as possible.

Getting realistic trades is also a problem that needs to be fixed. With the new cba coming into the game, how improved will the trade logic be?

It doesn't matter if Nick Young can dunk on people when he barely shoots 40%...
Actually Nick Young isnt that bad of a defender.
He's a better defender than Terry but neither are in the NBA for defense.
That aside that whole dunk thing was a joke....
I'd say Terry is more efficient but all he does is spot up shoot now.
Not saying thats not a skill but Young takes ppl off the dribble. He can finish over or around ppl. He takes Pull ups & draws fouls.
His percentage is low because he takes terrible shots of course but creating shots is apart of his skill set.
Nothing here really just Terry being a 77 is a little high as you said.

thought they would give Terry a higher rating after he left Dallas

they did for Chandler and Kidd

He's a pretty average defender and a weak rebounder for a 7 footer. I'll admit that his low offensive rebounding numbers are probably because he plays further from the basket, but you can't just be giving artificial boosts because he can shoot well.

I say this all the time: 2K has the frustrating propensity to overrate skilled offensive players in other areas of their game, just to please fans. Dirk will play like Dirk. It's the same situation with 'Melo; he doesn't deserve a 92 just because he can score... especially after last season.

Odom's rating is spot on - if he played like he did last season for his career, he wouldn't be worthy of a 65. 71 is on the money.

I'm also happy that Nick Young is low 70s.
Your assessment is spot on. THE PROBLEM, THOUGH, IS THAT MELO IS RATED 92. If Melo stays 92, then Dirk is vastly underrated. If Dirk is 85, which may be fairly accurate (I'd say 86 seem right), then Melo should be closer to 89 given his various skills, athleticism, shot and, ahem, defense and hustle.

Just because you feel it, doesn't mean it's there.

How is walton a 66? He shouldn't be above 55....and even that would be generous.

Can someone please explain to me why Roy Hibbert is an 86 OVR?! Bynum is an 87... Hibbert is no where near the talent of Bynum or elite centers. He's not a prolific scorer nor is he a volume rebounder, if I had to put a number it would be 83 at best

And people thinking Nick Young is in the same league as Terry are off their rocker. Terry is a better shooter, way more clutch, better team defender, more adept and aggravating his opponents and stealing the ball, and is a champion. Nick Young is inconsistent at best, and has never proven that he has winning in his make-up. All that should count. And it obviously does. I actually think Terry should be a 78.

Just because you feel it, doesn't mean it's there.

Well, Young allowed 110 points per 100 possessions last season - 114 for his career. That's pretty awful. Terry, on the other hand, conceded 106. They might not be known for their defense but it all factors in to their overall.

I'd say offensive win shares is a fair barometer for offensive contribution; Nick Young's isn't even particularly good 0.2. I just don't think he's that great :/

I dig that and all but you gotta take into account teams & coaches.
Wizards being bad on defense overall doesnt mean Young is a bad defender. I even understand the numbers but variables matter.
Some coaches really dont care about defense. Others preach it.
                          If you're a stats person...

"Nick Young ....ranks 15th in the NBA in opponents points per isolation possession and is allowing only 28% shooting in these situations. Opponents have shot layups on 9% of isolation possessions versus Young...." - 2012

"in isolation, on-the-ball situations, Nick Young is in the top 10 percent in the league as a defender" -2012

Not even making a big deal out of it.
We agree Terry is a little high.
I just think 72 for Young & 77 for Terry is odd.

We'll find out what kind of defender he is this year playing under Doug Collins.
