    Sim Game Can Be Played

    It can happen, folks.

I just thought I'd start another private online CCM franchise.

    49er's vs Packers.

Packers had ball in a shotgun passing formation. 3 man rush vs 5. TJ Lang, Packers guard, is on an island, no one to pick up. Starts gliding to double-team Justin Smith(I'm not joking, saw it with my own eyes, hey, at least Lang had the AI awareness to look for a double team) and while gliding over to help LT Newhouse, hits Newhouse and bounces off of Newhouse and glides over to help Saturday on a double-team. Stays engaged with Saturday on a double team for a second or two, (here comes Lang's awareness again), his head swivels a bit, then quite a bit and starts heading to the QB and picks up a block that the Packers LG, Sitton, got beat on and blocks the DL before they get to Double Check Rodgers.

The Packers were driving for their second score with the ball on the Niners 11 yd line. Jordy Nelson does a square in pattern, Rodgers throws the ball where Nelson was, and I noticed Nelson was bumped. Throw the friggen flag!!! All of a sudden, there is a cut scene with the ref call, what, Def PI on the CPU AI!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy Jumping Spitballs, the whole house shook. After looking at the replay, the safety definitely impeded Nelson to the call and the call was made. Good stuff.

Halftime AI- The Niners were down by 14 pts, and had the ball with over 3 minutes left in the half. The Niners didn't call one run play, all short to medium passes and scored. Packers got the ball back with 18 seconds.

Late Game AI- Niners down by 10 pts and they continued to pass the ball until it was 4th and goal on the 8 yd line. Now, less than a minute left on the clock and they came out in FG formation. I didn't have a problem with that, take the easy 3 and try on onside kick. That's the best percentage play. Unfortunately, Ackers missed a chip shot and game over.

Eh, no late game rubber band AI cheating conspiracy theories, either.

CPU Running Game- Gore, 20 rushes, 153 yds and a TD. Wow, Cpu with a running game. 80 of that was on a TD run.

    Smith- 67% passing %. Really?

Packers- 3 sacks Niners- 4 sacks

Both the Niners and Packers had less than 300 yds passing and under 400 yds of offense.

This was on all-pro with slightly adjusted sliders.

Also, since I've been in private online CCM's, not one disconnect, either, knock on wood.

As for the double-team pass blocking, no, I'm not sophisticated enough to have camera running or picture taking qualities. I'm also aware people will doubt me, but I'm being honest in the way I'm reporting what I saw in replay. I'll also admit that I probably won't be seeing it on a consistent basis.

My point was, to me, it was a sim like game and those can be fun, too and they can be played.

Don't rain too hard on the parade. lol.

This is with the understanding that I know offline still is buggy.

I'll see if this continues in the online CCM.

But you didn't sim or supersim it, correct? I'm a little confused. You played the game yourself did you control any of the players?

I myself, finally just started a new career also, decided to stay offline and whaddya know... the schemes save even when exiting the ccm mode and going back

Sim takes on different meanings to people.

I did control a player, but what I meant by sim, the game played to a similar game on Sunday.

Defensive PI was called against the CPU, that rarely happens in previous Maddens. I did see, with my eyes, a quick double team pass block. That rarely happens at all in previous Maddens.

The CPU had a running game, which has been reported as a bug in this years Madden. It's true on all-madden mode.

      Etc.....

Smith threw for 67%, which is sim in real life on a given Sunday.

That was good, I deserved that one. Wheels, that made me chuckle a lot.

I almost passed out with the DPI call on the CPU. I was happier than a pig in mud when I saw the call.

Also, 53 for every penalty slider.

                I'm using Charters subs sliders.

So if you tweak the 'stars' for play calling can you import those into a new offline CCM?

I don't see why not, but don't forget, online CCM has fixes and offline has to wait for a patch for those fixes.

Re: Sim Game Can Be Played

Glad to read you were able to get A sim game Road, is that the only one? Also surprised you got a DPI call on the CPU because I can't buy one online in User v User games against blatant route impeded by the AI. I have seen one or two in total called against a User controlled player in online ranked but no way near consistent enough, even when is blatant. For instance I was playing against the 49ers online against a User, me controlling a defender for help on Vernon Davis, accidentally mauled the guy up the field but no flag call. I am not the type of player that would continue to exploit that but it was still disheartening to see that not enforced. Would be great if they had the 5 yard defensive holding/illegal contact as well for before the ball is thrown.

I still can't understand what's so difficult about getting this to be consistent because it seems is was last gen in football games. I remember when me and friends would always move DPI/OPI to 100 in User v User games, to prevent any shenanigans in pass coverage. I also think back then, the AI did a better job of not impeding the receivers route, so I get the feeling that's why it's not tuned to trigger more in M13 because even though read n react has improved some things, this atrocious player movement consistently results in defenders impeding/cutting off receiver's routes.

Good to know you haven't experienced any disconnects either, I have repeatedly in my CCM with a friend and all our games are User v User. I seem to be the only one that has experienced or noticed an overtime bug in User v User games that disconnects the game every time.

While I am glad to hear about your results with the game, I wish someone or some panel at Tiburon would give us the secret formula for manually tuning the game to play consistently "sim" in their opinion or at least release a tuner set for it. It just seems odd to me every year the people that create this game don't seem to spend time actually playing it throughout the year. I don't expect Peter Moore or other "suits" to be into Madden or football gaming that intensely but it would be nice to have some group of "sim" playing influential devs that actually spend their leisure playing NFL football games.

Re: Sim Game Can Be Played

I'm with the OP. I've played the crap out of this game since it dropped and can say that there's plenty of sim, real football in there. Like any product, the game has flaws, but I think those are vastly overstated and don't do much justice to the game as a whole.

I play as the Niners in a private CCM. Some of my favorite moments are in the run game. When I run powers, which I do a lot, you HAVE to follow your guard, ride his hip. If you don't, you're in no-man's land and will get drilled. If you do it right, you can see the lane and go downhill just like you should. And contrary to what some say, I can tell which of my guards is fast enough to pull behind and which is more risky to use in that role.

I see some great chips and slips to the next level by OL and FB as well, and when appropriate, I see guys who suck at blocking whiff or get caught hanging when confronted with two potential defenders to block.

There's all kinds of little stuff like this that works together to make the game feel pretty realistic, but that's just me.

The only problem with riding a blockers hip is the fact that most of the time you end up tripping over him.

What is your quarter length that you play on? What game speed do you play on? I know that online private CCM and offline CCM are different right now due to the online tuners but what I also noticed offline was the AI (Specifically in regard to Run vs Pass Ratio) seemed to change based on the game speed that I played on if that makes sense. The faster game speed, the more passing plays I saw and it was a good balance. Weird but I have noticed a difference through multiple games.

I am using the same sliders, Road. Only 2 games into the preseason, but the results have been very good.

I have Bill Walsh coaching the team (love that playbook). I just have to remember to go into advanced settings and change the defensive scheme from 34 to 43, but otherwise, yeah, I'm getting good results with Online CCM.

How are you changing the sub sliders? Mine are still that weird 51-49 setting.
