Actually MLB2K is a brilliant game. Yes, out of the box it's crap, but if you get it on PC and with all the mods available, it is such a good game. It's better than The Show imo. And many on the PC forums who have both games (2K on PC, Show on PS3) say the same thing.
Whenever 2K makes a game, there is always a lot of good stuff to work with. EA is just glitz and glamour presentation but no substance under the hood.
