Tuner 1.04a?
I've been using 1.04 since it came out a few days ago and the game (offline mode) was playing great. yesterday I received one of those 'new tuner available, press y' messages - so I pressed Y. I assumed I would see tuner 1.05 in my game options but it just says 1.04 (which i assume is the same as choosing latest). I thought nothing of it until I played a few games - it was easier all of a sudden. I was playing on All-star default, but I had to move up to Normal AND add 3 ticks to 'make the cpu more difficult' just to make it more challenging.

Re: Tuner 1.04a?
I experienced the same thing, pretty much.
Got another Tuner update yesterday and figured it was 1.05
Booted up a GM Mode Game and it felt a lot different.
The CPU actually sold hits finally was the big thing I noticed. I didn't find it to be all that much easier, needed a rebound Goal in the Third to win (plus 2 EN Goals to finish 3-0). One other thing I noticed was that the CPU was missing more often and didn't play quite as great as they did before, but I had no real issues of it being too easy; it felt pretty much like the rest of the Games I've played so far.
But, this isn't 1.05? (IDK how to check that lol)St. Cloud State Huskies

Re: Tuner 1.04a?
I'm not sure what happened (I have no direct visibility on server stuff). There was a server update last night too, so it could be that something went wrong with that and rolled it back by accident. If there is a lot of "looping" then it most likely means people were on different versions somehow.
V1.04 should be reposted soon, which should also get everyone back on the same version and things should be back to normal.
So all is fine, 1.04 is back re-mastered. :-)Comment

Re: Tuner 1.04a?
Redshirt did say that the new 1.04 was the same as the "old" one, the only difference was a checksum (i'm not a programmer, lol).
Check post #163 in this thread.

Re: Tuner 1.04a?
I've been wondering that one myself, there never was an explanation. Maybe a PM to Redshirt?Comment

Re: Tuner 1.04a?
There's just comments about Be a GM plays differently than Play now, I kinda feel that way too. Been playing without this "game modes tuner" for a while in Be a GM but don't really want to comment...Comment

Re: Tuner 1.04a?
AI Learning is the ability from the AI to learn how you play offensively and defensively, so he can adjust. With this slider at max, you should not be able to do the same move again and again, while still getting rewarded.
AI Difficulty is a boost the AI gets in all area, which means skating, shooting, passing, hitting, goaltending, etc. Some people are calling this the AI cheat slider.Comment

Re: Tuner 1.04a?
In my offline BeaGM, I use the following adjustment to AI difficulty...
I use 3 as the base number. I add 1 to the 3 for each of the following, I am on the road, playing away vs other conference or my team played the night before. I subtract 1 for each of the following, I am at home, playing home vs other conference or the other team played the night before. For example, as Buffalo at San Jose and I played the night before, the setting would be 6 (3+1(away)+1(other conf)+1(BUF played night before)=6) or as Buffalo I am home vs Boston and the Bruins played the night before and so did the Sabres. (3-1(home)-1(Bos played night before)+1(BUF played night before)=2).
This formula builds in for three of the biggest issues for real NHL teams, home/away, travel and back to back games.Comment
