After reading the positive feedback in this thread I updated my copy of nhl 13 for the first time having ignored the other tuners.
Just completed two games in my BaGM as Edmonton. I am playing 8 min periods on pro, true broad cast. Moments in a cpu team mate gets called for tripping. It was the only pk I had for the game but the cpu gave up 4 penalties. I went 0 from 4 but was scored on short handed. I laughed to myself thinking how I have to adjust having my pp out on the ice for a significant amount of time during a game. I hung on to come away with a scrappy 2-1 win.
Next up I am away at Colorado and have a blinder. The cpu gave up three penalties and I went 3 from 3 and caved in the Avs to the tune of 8-0. That its the biggest win and the highest score I have recorded with nhl 13.
Only two games down with this tuner and it is immediate improvement. Seriously, how fun is it having the PP as a regular part of the action?

Finally got around to playing this with the new tuner! It's awesome!
Only played one game so far, but you could tell there was an immediate difference.
I had my first 5 on 3 PP in NHL 13, too!
CPU penalties: 4

One minor problem: Faceoff difficulty slider at 4 I win like 70% of faceoffs and when i bump it up to 5 I lose 70% of them. Difference is huge...Comment

Bump it to five and practice. Are we really at the point where we want the game to just provide us with stats regardless of how we perform?
What % do you want? At 70%, you are winning 6 of 20 face-offs. You don't think you can practice and get to 8-10, and maybe up to 12 wins?Comment

This is where I'm at too, Taku.
I've wished to myself I could set the slider at 4.5.
But ya...hopefully with more practice we'll both get better in the circles. Some games I've done fairly well, so I am seeing a little improvement with my %. But still a work in progress.

I must say... New tuner = game is now amazing. I was up until 4:00 am playing - couldn't stop. Great job by EA - had a TON of variety in the games I played - sometimes I got hardly any calls, and sometimes I got a bunch. Good stuff...

Man, I wish you'd stop saying nice things about this game, MK. I was hoping to hold off on NHL 13 until the Lockout was lifted, but not so sure I can hold off too much longer.Currently Playing:

This game freakin' rocks now, best ever NHL video game. Ten games into my new BeaGM offline mode and the games have varied from a goaltenders dual to a vintage 80's shoot-out. Then to top it off, I just had a penalty and fight filled Sabres-Bruins game... unfortunately for me, the Bruins completely destroyed me physically and on the score board.Comment

So when a new Tuner set is downloaded you are able to use it in, lets say, a Be a GM that was already underway?

Yes.
I suspect some of the people who aren't seeing any differences might have it set to earlier versions. If you left your Tuning Version set to Latest it should just use the most recent one. If you set it to a specific version you'll have to change it yourself.
It is in My Nhl 13/Settings/Gameplay Settings/General/Tuner Set Version and you want to set it in the front end (not in-game or it'll only be changed for the duration of that game) and then save settings before quitting the Be a GM (or whatever) mode.Comment

i have noticed with 1.04 IMO it gets arcade like. the aspects of 1.01 that made the game realistic seem to be gone. ive had a total of 9 games with 1.04 and some things with the goalies I hadnt seen before make me think about switching back.
Had 2 games today and had the following occur (and NO i dont believe in a cpu comeback before a flame war begins, but this irritated me today)
1. had a goalie go to reach down and put his glove on the puck only to have him scoop it and go to pass. instead of passing it he moved his glove in a way that you would think he was making a glove save and threw the puck in my own net.
2. had multiple 2 on 1's against me and on a few the goalie moved over to the guy without the puck, moved FAR out and seem to have froze. the puck carrier simply took it to the net and put it in the now vacant net while my goalie never moved at all after going to the other man.
3. Up 2 goals with 40 left the cpu shoots and scores from the point. they win the face off, bounce off 2 checks of mine, shoot it THROUGH a defense man that went down to block it and score. next face off I win they drill me (good hit no doubt) put a wrister on net that my goalie never moves on (no traffic in front) and score to tie. Next play I get called for a penalty at center ice yet MY GOALIE skates to the bench and they score on a wide open net. Wth just happened?Comment

Exactly like me! Here the same, its an arcade game now!
Cant believe we are the only one seeing this!!!
Strange thing is, the first few games with v.1.04 were awesome games, then it went into arcade gamestyle, way to hard, way 2 fast, clunky robotic moves, the ice friction is gone...
Skating feels not natural anymore...and so on.
Cant play with 1.04! Back to v.1.00.
