Formation subs aren't in the game.

Right, but true formation subs that stick from game to game aren't in like they used to be. I don't have an option in the playcall screen to put Randall Cobb at HB for shotgun unless I mess with my depth chart. It is limited. It used to be that you could actually set up formation subs from the main menu, and you didn't have to chose from their "packages". I'm pretty sure NCAA has this.

Right, but true formation subs that stick from game to game aren't in like they used to be. I don't have an option in the playcall screen to put Randall Cobb at HB for shotgun unless I mess with my depth chart. It is limited. It used to be that you could actually set up formation subs from the main menu, and you didn't have to chose from their "packages". I'm pretty sure NCAA has this.

NCAA Football has had this feature for at least three years I believe but Madden has never had it. Last year they had it by hitting R1 during the play call but that's annoying as the controls suck to make the changes and it has to be done quickly. I really hope EA adds this to the main menu in M14. Also add the no huddle play call system NCAA has as well.

I just posted a topic yesterday on quick-substitutions. This seems so easy to implement, and would at least solve many problems for HB substitutions.

Simply hold down a trigger button at the playcalling screen, and your list of RBs pops up. Use the d-pad analog stick to scroll down and the guy you want is in (global depth chart change). He stays in until you switch back.

This could be done in seconds, and would allow you to swap out a RB for a series, the rest of the game, or just a play, with the greatest of ease.

I agree for now that formation substitutions need to be in the game, especially for special teams, but I think the whole package system needs to be redone, and we need to be able to create our own packages, like you could back in '08 (PC version).

This is one area where the new Wii U Gamepad may actually be a good thing for sports games. Imagine where your controller is a tablet and with a quick touch you can sub guys, see their fatigue levels, have a stat ticker scrolling across, etc.

I don't know why madden removed a lot of crucial things for a videogame, it supposed to be removed if this feature isn´t good for the game, they remove playbook, auto subs, and today i noticed that they removed the ea sports highlights after the game and also removed the assisted tackles i said WTF!!! i were really surprised... assisted tackles are really important for the footbal in real life and also the half sacks were removed too... they remove a lot of things, the gameplay is better but with this features removed i remember the madden 06, 07 sagas... ea has to do something about this right now

not been in madden iirc, however packages as the previous peep said were in pc 08. in ncaa you can formation sub but not all of the formations. in hc 06 on pc you could sub every formation inc all special teams plays. in ncaa you cant sub lineman on a extra point, you could in hc 06. then again you could design plays in hc 06.

the formation packages like lb rush in quarter 3 deep in ncaa take too long to select given the clock ticking by. and you can select lb rush in say dime 2-3-6 odd but where does lolb#1 go?

what ncaa does allow is say I Form Tackle Over you can have a G as a TE which cant be done in Madden AFAIK even via TE depth chart. you could put a G as a T and a T as TE ... messy

^^ & I don't even necessarily need a separate formation sub screen, I'd be happy with my individual subs sticking from game to game like they did in offline 11 or 12.

NCAA has formation subs, why cant Madden? My biggest issue with not having it is for special teams. I dont want a single starter on kickoffs and punts. Especially with the new xp system, i want to make sure to get everyone in the game at some point. Yes, we can use R1 for the most part, but not for kickoffs. Plus, if you want to sub people in, you onlu have a limited time.

Give us NCAA's formation subs in the main menu so we can take our time and change players in EVERY formation. It shouldnt be that hard.
