PES 2013: How's your 'Become A Legend' going?

I always loved this game mode in Pro Evolution Soccer and this year's edition seems to pick up were previous iterations left off.

I'd love to hear how this game mode is progressing for you PES'ers out there. I'm four games in on mine and perhaps I am cheating a bit by selecting a real player, but in my defense, I love this guy and wanted to see how his first year at Tottenham could potentially go.

So, I decided to use Clint Dempsey – goal-scoring stud and American star, who – as we all know – is the new face of American soccer. =)

Four games in and Clint has 3 goals, including two in a 5-0 destruction of West Bromwich Albion in the Premiere League opener. I'm playing on Professional difficulty with 15 minute halves and having great fun and success to boot. CPU teammate AI is seriously scary good this year. I played a nice pass to Defoe in the Albion game and he tapped it right back to me out in front for an easy shot on goal.

I can't say enough about this game's fun factor to start. I get scared sitting down to play it because one game turns into three.

Anyone else get going with their legend?

Re: PES 2013: How's your 'Become A Legend' going?

I decided to buy PES this saturday for the first time ever, because I heard good of the legend mode, and most EA games I've bought over the last few years have had so many bugs. Anyway... I have played around 10 games om 5 min setting on professional, just to get a hang of the game.

I play a center forward finisher who lurks on the edge of offside, with a good pace and finishing. I'm loving it, bagged quite a few goals on through balls in the dutch league :-) Soon I will pump up the difficulty, and perhaps buy the ability to play as the deeper lying forward, and it's really rewarding to set up your teammates for scoring chances, the AI is great.

Are they planning to release an update with the official teams? Or will I just have to live with "London Blue" etc. as they're called?
It isn't how good you are. It's chaos and luck and anyone who thinks differently is a fool.

There will be no update for that but look in the option file thread. You can load up a file that will have all the EPL teams and a few other leagues.

As far as my BAL, I will start one up with a CF once Daymos V2 drops.

Glad to see you enjoying it, but like Altimus said check the Option file thread and they have files that update team names, kits, and logos.

As for BAL I am also waiting for KONAMI to release their second patch to start one. I think I might be a winger this year I have done SS and AMF before and those were awesome. Also are you guys sticking to your actual nationality or are you going with something different?

In the past I did Canada but failed horribly in the World Cup. In PES 2011 I did Belgium but this year i might actually go with Netherlands finally they have a few of aging stars so I should be fun breaking in their squad.

This is my first Football game ever and this is the first mode I have tried so far. This mode is too addicting in a bad way lol. To me this mode is better than nba 2k's my player mode for these reasons:

            - Bad teams will play bad and good teams will own you.
            - There is actually a team concept here and bad teammates will piss you off and you will love good teammates.
            - The AI here is better in every way lol
            - I actually feel attached to my teammates (some Portuguese team that I cant pronounce the name)
            - The progression pace is slower and realistic and you can''t get a 99 player in a year.

I just hope they can implement next year some elements of the myplayer in 2k like the press conference and endorsments. I also hope that I can spend money on training or activities that would improve my form or something similar.

I currently have 35 goals out of 45 games so should I increase the difficulty? Or is this normal?

Re: PES 2013: How's your 'Become A Legend' going?

This years BAL has me scratching my head.

I don't like, that after games there's no Managers Feedback only stats and rating.

Training matches seem to routinely give out 5.5-6.0 ratings.

In my current BAL I'm an AMF and have played 38 with 11 G's and 2 A's with 1 CAP.

I started with Rio Ave FC in Portugal. I was with them for 1.5 years with a 6.5 rating and the next closest starter was 6.0. I wasn't playing (played DMF) so I searched for normal playing time and Cagliari Calcio in Serie A offered a 57% chance. I played in 11 with 2 G's and 1 A. I had a 6.8 rating at AMF and the next closest starter was 6.1. They only offered a 1 year deal and didn't offer a new contract at the end of the season.

Stade De Reims offered me a deal and I played in 4 with 1 G and 0 A with a 7.2 rating at LMF for half the year. The next closest starter was 6.5. I searched for High playing time and Reading offered me a 1 year deal. I played 4 with 5 G's and 0 A with a 7.6 rating and the next closest starter was 5.8. I was tied for 2nd on the team in goals and the leader had 6. Again no new deal at the end of the season. WTF!

Looks like I'm heading back to Stade De Reims for season 4.

I don't understand what makes up the manager rating. Is it mainly based on your overall rating? I'm at 66 now.

Anyone else noticing odd playing time and low ratings in training?

This is quite annoying. One of the best things about BAL, and it's gone.

Also, is it really necessary for my agent to remind me to look at my development every single time he talks to me?! That may be more annoying than the lack of management support.

I learned the LMF position, and in the last 6 games I've started 2 and substituted in the other 4.

My guess is, you have to have a position learned for the formation the team plays. But that's only a guess.

I also noticed that my rating at LMF has been around 84, but my overall rating is 68 right now. Anyone's guess on why that is?

Does anyone else feel the player game rating is messed up in BAL?

The ratings handed out for matches seem really low. In my current season with Liverpool the highest rating on the entire team is 6.5.

With no feedback it's impossible to understand why you get the rating you do. IMO.

EDIT: What's the longest contract anyone has received? I'm 5 years into my BAL and I've yet to receive a contract longer than 2 years. I currently have the middle agent (USA agent).

Im in the second year with my BAL. I went in as a AMF. However the team that picked me up, Ehrenhofstadt, Doesnt utilize a AMF so I was assigned the LMF position. First year was good once we got going we climbed the table to win the PES league. We also one the PES Cup. I one goal scorer of the year. We also qualified for the UEFA Champions League. I got in a few matches with my International team, Germany. I am American but spent a few years in Germany when I was in the Military. I have 9 Int Caps so far playing at LMF and AMF at times.

Year 2 is ok. Not sure if I want to leave in the Jan transfer window or not. Looking to go to the Brazilian league since a few of the teams have expressed a high interest and they will play me at either AMF or SS.

As for The UCL, We got Chelsea, A.C. Milian and Toulouse FC in Group A. We won our first three matches but got killed against Chelsea 6-1. We currently sit atop Group A with 9 points and 2 games left. We are guaranteed entrance into the Europa league no matter what happens.

Currently my BAL has an OVR of 70 but has a 77 when playing LMF.

Definitely can't wait to get back home from school to play BAL. Had a big Fellaini inspired Midfielder I was messing with. Feel like a player like that is much more effective in PES due to weight actually being a factor than those ragdoll physics of FIFA. Enjoy playing long ball in PES.

I've had a "BAL" since PES 2009. Lam Matteo is getting up there, but still scoring at will.
