Did I make Cavs Worse(er) or better

Posted something similar on the 2k forums but want to get a second opinion here.

Anyway my association team is the Cavs and the first thing I did was sign some free agents. I picked up Damion James, Alonzo Gee and Michael Red. After two games I lost so I made a 3 team trade. I picked up Wilson Chandlier and got a 2nd round pick. I got rid of Daniel Gibson and Luke Walton. Also a draft pick. Since I traded Gibson I signed Gilbert Arenas. So my team now looks like this.

    PG Irving/Arenas/Pargo
    SG Waiters/Redd
    SF Chandler/James/Gee/CJ Miles
    PF Thompson/Samuels/Harangody
    C Varejao/Zellar

I will probably trade CJ Miles. I was told I should try and get a better power forward or center. How good are these changes for the Cavs? And what else should I be looking for?

When I saw the title of this thread, I was going to bash you because I thought your roster would look something like this...

    Kyrie Irving /
    Paul George / Jason Terry
    LeBron James / Michael Beasley
    Lamarcus Aldridge /
    Roy Hibbert

So I give you MAJOR props for being realistic lol.

As far as the roster, I like it, especially the pickup of Wilson, (another realistic pickup) I would possibly get rid of Gee and Harangody before I get rid of CJ.

Headed in a nice direction. Don't get rid of Gee, he's a part of the young core we're building. Honestly, the next move I would make is look for a decent package to send Varejao somewhere.

get a PF that can shoot the mid range or 3 since TT and AV can't do it and will be clogging up the paint. You can also do what I've been doing in start Samuels with AV and bring TT and Zeller together. Also never really watch CJ Miles play but he's bad in 2K. I always have a horrible shooting percentage with him.

The team looks pretty good an realistic, as noted above. I started an Association with the Cavs and put Zeller starting over Varejao making the NBA's "Kid Line" with Irving, Waiters, and Zeller. I will more than likely make some trades but want to see how this all plays out before I make any moves.

I think you are on the right path with that lineup.

Thanks for the feedback. Still have some work to do. I either suck at the game or I don't have a good lineup right now. I'm 0-5 now. I'm going to go with the me sucking at the game option though lol.

I am currently 2-3. I got DESTROYED by the Bulls. On some 46-19 at the half. 19 points! I could not get anything on their defense. Definitely true to life for the Bulls D.

Well I'm at a low point in the game. I just lost to the Bobcats! It seems like all my players go in spirts. The first 3 games it was Waiters. Since than he hasn't been making anything even when hes wide open. Next it was Irving than Chandler and Damion James this game. The games that those players are hot no one else can do much.

I'm 5-1 with the Cavs but I know how to use each player and I know their pros and cons. It helps that I only play with the Cavs in every 2K game thats been out.

If I were you... What I would do is sub in Gee before I would even play James.. I would change my style of play to run and gun considering Kyrie is running the show and you have an undersized 2G.. Varajao and Zeller are neither very good offensively inside but both can run the floor very well and you don't have to worry about have a liability at center while trying to run..

I haven't played with Waiters yet, but on 2K12 Gee was very good at finishing breaks and hitting those 3 balls in transition, maybe subbing him in some at even the SG spot would make se sense for you as well.. Especially since his isn't a bad defender. I would still bring Redd in some to hit a few 3s but my priority would be scoring with Chandler and Gee, since Waiters is still a developing rookie..

You really should consider getting a PF that can hit some kick out shots.. I grabbed Morris from Phoenix on 2K12 and he has a very good jumper for a big and can get up and down very nice..

In this running system you'll want 22-25 points and 8-10 assists per game with Kyrie.. You really have to make him become the star..

I know for a fact this worked well on 2K12.. Maybe just give your team a chance at playing run and gun.. Change your coach profiles up some.. You've got nothing to lose lol

Great seeing so many people using my hometown Cavs. Waiting on the patch and roster update to drop before I start my Association, but I plan to pretty much leave the team as is. I figure we will be bad the first year and hopefully get a high lottery pick to use on a 3 or 4 that can shoot (looking for a 18-22ppg guy). I will play the second year through and then hopefully add a big name free agent to complement my young core of Irving, Waiters, TT, Zeller and the new guy I draft at the end of year 1.

Tristan Thompson is good if you use him right. Not a big time scorer but can finish with dunks in traffic. I like to attack with Kyrie and Dion and hit Thompson on cuts to the basket for the dunk. He's also a good rebounder and shot blocker.

I would probably look to move Andy or just bring him off of the bench and start Zeller. If you're patient all of those young guys will develop and form a pretty good squad.

Too bad Erden left the Cavs, he has such a sweet and easy shot in 2K12. He was rated high 50's/low 60's and you can put up easy 10-20 ppg. Why did you get rid of Daniel Gibson? I haven't got 2K13 yet (hopefully it arrives tomorrow) but he was a beast in 2K12 and so easy to use/shoot 3's with.
