So is there a reason to rest your star goalie? Does he get tired or is he a machine in the game?ALL THINGS DALLAS

Re: Goalies: Is there any reason to rest them? Do they get tired?
Better question: Is it possible to have a SV% over .900 with your starting goalie? Been playing NHL for years and am tired of having my goalie get 40 wins with a 1.80 GAA and a .885 SV%.
In all seriousness though, I would also like to know about goalie rest. -

Re: Goalies: Is there any reason to rest them? Do they get tired?
This is what I found out.....
From the "My Team" menu, when you are over your goalie and press Y, that should let you swap your starter and backup. The goalie you want to rest should be in the backup slot. If he is on your roster but scratched, he will not recover any.
It also just recovers one game at a time. In NHL 12, resting your starter would remove 5 or less fatigue from just one game, but in NHL 13 he'll only recover one game at a time. If you haven't been keeping him fresh and you have goalies with a fatigue of 5, 6, or 10, they will need to be in the backup slot for 5, 6, or 10 wins before they are back to healthy.ALL THINGS DALLAS

Ya there is no such thing as fatigue in NHL. Matter of fact in any EA sports game.Comment

Re: Goalies: Is there any reason to rest them? Do they get tired?
FIFA does, and fatigue systems in American football and golf games would be pointless, so, assuming NHL doesn't have fatigue, that makes exactly one EA Sports game that needs fatigue and doesn't have it.

Re: Goalies: Is there any reason to rest them? Do they get tired?
In game? How is it pointless in football? I haven't played FIFA but are you talking about between games or during games? If it's in between games I don't see how it's relevant in soccer. Otherwise there is fatigue in-game in Madden and NHL and NBA...Comment

Re: Goalies: Is there any reason to rest them? Do they get tired?
Goalies can only get fatigued in Ultimate Team. After about two game my goalie had a little black circle with a half moon and the letter Z at the top left, and also his attributes went down a little bit. But in GM mode, i've never had a goalie show effects of fatigue or show any signs or reminders... have never had an injury either... hmmm..
But thats just my take on things.

Re: Goalies: Is there any reason to rest them? Do they get tired?
He was talking about fatigue between games, which is what my reply was aimed at. Of course all of the games except golf have fatigue/energy systems during the games. FIFA has fatigue that carries over, and it wouldn't make much sense in Madden or NCAA. So only NHL needs the system and doesn't have it, which makes his "any EA Sports game" statement ridiculous.Impact de Montréal

Apparently not. In my GMC league, I have Bryzgalov who is second in the league with 9 wins, has a GAA of 2.30 and a SV% under .850 LOLOLOLOLComment

Re: Goalies: Is there any reason to rest them? Do they get tired?
The Show has fatigue for all players. Adds a real management level to the game. I assumed there was one for NHL goalies since they are rested often.
I found that one reply somewhere. Turns out in my GM Connected I could not find any fatigue listed. Maybe its offline but not online. Kind of strange.
So a goalie can just play in all the games the entire year?ALL THINGS DALLAS

Re: Goalies: Is there any reason to rest them? Do they get tired?
I wondered the same thing, and I'm assuming you can. I tried fooling myself into thinking there was some fatigue, but I believe momentum is more likely to be a factor. I've had Quick play 7 games then 'rest' him for Bernier only to come back the following game and allow 4-5 goals on multiple occasions. Could be coincidence, but the only reason I don't play him all 82 is because I have a competent backup. The Show has fatigue for all players. Adds a real management level to the game. Re: Goalies: Is there any reason to rest them? Do they get tired?
I have experienced goalie fatigue, in my Be a GM mode.
I have a starting goalie and backup goalie on my team. I noticed that my team plays better in front of my Starter then my backup. Meaning I have a hard time playing against teams when my backup is playing.
This year My starter has played in 20 games while backup in 6. In NHL 12 I was able to play my goalie for a string of 15 games at a time without ever getting tired, or letting in soft goals in NHL 13 it actually matters to switch up your team once in awhile.Comment
