Thats disappointing considering 2 reps said that it was just call the plays and watch. I should of known better than to get my hopes up.

yeah, and i think it was Big I had the debate with, but i never really interpreted his quotes as being a mode. Always figured it was just what was in play now. I mean, how could they have added a whole new mode, well, i guess if it wasn't done in time for release, maybe...so okay, i won't judge you guys too harshly Guess i'm going back to HC now...just lost the SB with the Raidehs and have a busy offseason ahead full of depth lol sorry

Ok, I read back through this entire thread before posting, so I need some clarification.

I can confirm that you CAN play coach mode. I traded my pre-order copy in for NHL when I found out that coach mode wasn't originally in the game. I play in coach-only leagues for NCAA, and we were looking forward to doing the same for Madden.

When you go to My Madden, go to settings and turn "coach mode" on. This will allow you to call offensive and defensive plays and just watch the CPU run them. The QB will be controlled by the CPU as well, and will throw the ball instead of sitting in the pocket waiting for you to take control of him.

I set up a test online league to check this out, so it should work for all modes I believe.

Finally got Coach mode and Broadcast view to work in Offline CCM on 360

I deleted all prior saved CCM

Went into settings and changed my camera view to Broadcast and turned on Coach Mode...
Started new offline CCM Coach.. The only time I do not have Broadcast View is when doing the practices ...

So is true coach mode in or not because those two post above seem to imply that it's in. Is it just not in for online yet? I am just trying to get clarity.

@SloeyEZ, the posts I quoted much earlier clearly seem to state there was going to be a true coach mode added, I don't see any ambiguity in what was stated by Dewiel and then confirmed by Emmdotfrisk. Feel free to read them again in the OP of this thread here and point out where you feel something could have been lost in translation. I like Gore's stats and the AI running like that on All-Pro? Nice! Did Hunter have any carries? You might have had a lot of plays which makes Smith look like he threw too much, but if they ran 36 times - there were just a lot of plays in that game.

They had Jacobs as their #2, but he only got 4 carries. The total play count for the game was in the 130's. Kind of high for my liking. I was using 15 min quarters. I had a 17-3 lead at one point which had to have something to do with the high number of passing plays for the CPU.

is it me or now when players get tackled its like they got shot???????? i played a game between me browns and cmp redskins and every tackle it seemed when getting tackled the rb and wrs drop to there knees and fall flat on there face?. and i thought the tackles of hitting them and them flying half way across field was bad i'd rather have that then this now. also the patch didnt fix the catch and freeze issue where u throw ball and wr just stops.

On subject of CPU play calling in connection with my previous post that where the CPU team, the Ravens, down by 7 points, 6-13, and the ball on their ~48 yard line, ran 2 times in a row with ~:11 seconds left in the game, and lost....


I just ran another CPU game, Packers v Vikings....Packers make it down to the Viking 1 yard line, the Pack is down 7-14, and at the running of the play there is 2:06 left in the game and it is 4th and goal from the 1....The Packers actually go for it on 4th, a run play up the middle and score to tie the game, after the xtra point....(this would be good logic) Though, I might expect the PAck to throw considering their run game, but maybe they wanted to fool the Defense? lol

So I guess the logic (play calling) isn't broken necessarily, but inconsistent and illogical at times? Random?

I'm sorry if this has already asked, but is there a way now to change your playbook at any point during or after the season? I'm currently running with the Giants defensive playbook and want to switch to a more hybrid playbook. I know I can change it before games, but I would like it to be permanently changed for the sim games. Is this possible?

I noticed in some previous posts the issue on whether play calling by the CPU has been adjusted....And the play calling of the patriots was brought up and that they are throwing more....Some countered and said there is still not a good representation of team specific tendencies.....

I just wanted to point out that MAYBE some may have a clouded idea of team tendencies? Do the Patriots and Tom Brady pass ALOT more than run?

I would not call the Patriots a Pass happy team.... Maybe the AI/CPU is not as bad as some may believe, just their impressions of what teams are doing might be a little off? Just offering a possibility....

We're not even close to seeing that right now. Hopefully, custom playbooks during CCM online edit with the 2nd controller should help but not seeing it right now...

Anyone noticing the simulated stats seem very conservative??

What are you seeing exactly?

By "conservative" do you mean toned down?

Because the sim engine was running waaaay too many playes per game that were skewing all the stats?

Has the stat engine been improved?

No, I've not been able to do this although I thought this was something the patch was to address.

All I want is to have the rookie QBs who are now starting in the NFL to start in my OFFLINE dynasty. I changed my depth charts to reflect these changes, reordered the depth chart and saved prior to starting a dynasty. Started my dynasty and imported my custom roster. Upon checking the depth charts.........nothing is as it should be, Henne, Garrad, Flynn, etc. are all starting QBs and none of my ratings changes are there.

Anyone know what is up with this?

I apologize if this has been answered on previous page.....I made it through 22 pages before giving up because my phone is dying lol. I can't seem to get my schemes to stay set the way I want them? I am in year 4 of my current ccm and was Hopi.g to keep going in it. Am I going to have to start over to get my coaching schemes to stay put where I want them?
