Don't know if I'm completely blind either, but how exactly do you change your base schemes in offline CCM? Like, how do you change an 'Attacking 3-4' to a 'Base 4-3' as your team's base defensive scheme? I checked every single page and could not find any answer other than 'it's in the schemes menu', even though it isn't - I only see the option to change schemes for each position instead of the whole team. -
This must be the year that EA finally gives the Bucs our orange pants. That we wore for about a decade.NOT!!!Tweeted from Tampa Habitual Rehab ClinicTHRCa home for the lonelyComment

I did start a new connected career. I can edit positions and the like. In the top right corner it does say I'm running a spread D. I'm wondering if spread D in the top right corner is incorrect. Perhaps its just a little graphics glitch since all the positions in the 4-3 look correct. Will that interfere with free agency and the draft making it harder to sign players? Last time I created a couch nobody, unless throwing a ton of money around would sign because of the incorrectly listed scheme.Last edited by Titus001; 10-15-2012, 07:09 PM.GO BUCKS!Comment

Just glade that CCM plays like play now. Only thing that ruined Madden for me.
Im happy I can start a Madden season soon once some good sliders come out.
NBA 2k13 is mind blowing good out of the box. Keeps my mind off Madden and makes it easier to wait on things.Comment

Change O and D schemes the same place you change player's position schemes. (More...Schemes) The team ones are the first two options to change.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Title Update #3 Available Now, Post Your Impressions (360, PS3)
What I used to do last year was turn the play clock off on the first off/def possession of the game to do the subs, then turn the play clock back on. But I only had to do it after preseason or after a player returned from injury, I also noticed that this year the changes weren't staying beyond one game, I don't know if it has been fixed with the update or not.You didnt answer my question, but I see where youre coming from.
I like to have my backups play some and the way that Madden handles fatigue and Auto-subs, it does not help me accomplish what I want.
So Formation subs is the way to go. I do about 10-15 formation subs every game and that usually takes at least 4-5 full downs on defense because of the timer, and nearly a whole drive on offense just subbing my RB in and out in different formations. And thats because I've gotten good at doing them so friggen fast since I have to do it EVERY game. Its very time consuming and quite irritating
p.s: after you turn off the play clock on offense, you had to run one play after making your changes before turning the play clock back on or when you return to pick your offensive play you would have one second left on the play clock, and have to burn a timeout or get a 5 yard delay of game penalty.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Title Update #3 Available Now, Post Your Impressions (360, PS3)
The first full Madden 13 patch is a big disappointment for me. While everyone was praising EA for what they did fix, they seemed to forget all the things that were absent.
For me the broken team tendencies was priority #1 and it wasn’t touched. Most teams in the game still choose to run roughly 80% of the time on first and second down. I played 1.5 games against the Patriots and Eagles and it was still the same as it was before the patch. If this didn’t bother you then you are lucky. It bothers me that all the teams have the same feel and it also makes the cpu too easy to stop. It robs the game of personality. Team songs still don’t play. I scored a TD at home with Miami and their team song is still absent for some reason.
Late game AI is still terrible. How can EA defend this? How can it be this bad after producing video game football for over 20 years? The cpu (Tom Brady) was losing by 6 with 18 seconds left and no time outs and they choose to run the ball from my 40. They actually got 20 yards and spiked the ball with 2 seconds left. So what do they do from just inside my 20 with only two seconds left? Bring out a 3 TE, 1 WR formation to run the ball of course. It’s beyond absurd.
While they may have patched the game so that the difficulty and sliders within CCM is the same as Play Now it still wasn’t good enough. The pass reaction slider still appears to do nothing. NCAA Football has a pass coverage slider that actually affects coverage. EA’s Madden team has not provided a tool to make the coverage easier or harder. Fail. FG kicking accuracy sliders are still only global which means the human player will continue to hit 100% of their FGs since the r-stick for accuracy means almost nothing and is way too easy. This wasn’t patched either.
I still saw the glitch where the game drops out of HD and looks fuzzy. It doesn’t happen often but no fix here either.
About the only positives I saw from playing 1.5 games were that the physics seems better. The players seemed to move smoother as well. I haven’t played Madden much lately since I’m so annoyed with the broken team tendencies. At this point I’d like to get through at least one off-season within franchise but I may just trade this game in and be done with it. If this was the best they could do with some obvious things like late game AI so bad, then I have lost a ton of faith in the Madden dev team. Frustrated right now.Comment

Spot on, Rudy. I saw the same things today, both in and out of CCM, as it relates to AI playcalling. That's awfully tough to look past. The first full Madden 13 patch is a big disappointment for me. I'll play a few more games within CCM and see if I can at least get some good games out of the CPU (default All-Madden), but more than likely, this thing is getting traded in for WWE 13 at the end of the month.Currently Playing:

Not sure, but those sack numbers are scary-looking. No DE's anywhere to be foundFor those interested in sim stats, here you go:

OK, need some help with analysis. Is this better, worse or the same?
Alex Smith and Christian Ponder near the top for passing yards is another head-scratcher.Currently Playing:

So far in this first game I'm playing against Dallas they have thrown the ball 8 times and they ran it 4. It's just the first quarter so I'll see how the games turns out at the end and I'll definitely be looking out for the other stuff you mentioned.
What level are you playing on BTW? You can't expect the CPU to play there best if you are playing on All-Pro..Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Title Update #3 Available Now, Post Your Impressions (360, PS3)
Try it using Offline CCM. If you change your defensive scheme from attacking 4-3 to anything else, it'll show up properly. Looks like it shows up as "Spread" if you have attacking 4-3 as your defensive scheme. This is music to my ears for once the Online CCM update drops in 4 days.
Really? C.J. Spiller just went 26 carries for 156 yards for me in a game I just played against the league's top defense, using sliders found in the sliders forum.
Not true. You can change it whenever you want. I believe the only thing you can't do once your coach is created is change your default playbook, but this isn't a HUGE deal because you can always change it before you enter a game.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Title Update #3 Available Now, Post Your Impressions (360, PS3)
I'm playing on All-Pro. All-Pro is largely what EA designs the game around. Certainly I expect All-Madden to be harder but team tendencies should be independent of difficulty. I'm not good enough to play on All-Madden but I doubt it's different there anyway. So far in this first game I'm playing against Dallas they have thrown the ball 8 times and they ran it 4. We tried to get EA's rep Emmdot to answer the question in the original patch thread. All he ever said was he would ask and he never answered the question (even though he answered others). To me this was a clear sign they didn't touch this area.
I don't think all teams are horrible. Whenever I've played the Lions they seem to be pass happy like they should be but the vast majority of teams always seemed to pound the rock on 1st and 2nd down. The two-minute drill and third downs will feature more passes but overall it's frustrating. I'll come out in 46 defenses and dare them to throw it and they still run it into the teeth of my defense.
For those that are enjoying the game I am glad. I'm just not one of them. Won't be posting much anymore.Last edited by rudyjuly2; 10-15-2012, 08:14 PM.Comment
