Hey everyone,

I've been playing ESPN NFL 2k5 for a long time now, and probably will continue to play it for some time. It's a lot of fun, and with the right slider settings, can play a very realistic game.

Drawing from ideas from Radja and others, I'd like to share my set of sliders and Coach Gameplan settings. These sliders have given me very realistic results and have added to my enjoyment of this game.

NOTE: I use default rosters - PS2..... (I'm using the XBOX 360 with my created update rosters NFL 2K13 done by me Rickster101)

Yeah we both wanna include those guys and share the love to bad we can't get a ps3 guy to help but who knows someone might step up and help out.

Hey I've been testing these out for CPU vs CPU and Start up games they seem to be alright to start out with and tweak of course to whatever works for the user check them out if you find time.

I should probably know this by now, but what are PBP's? Also, I know everyone has their own way to set the sliders because of preference, but I noticed that when I was tinkling with sliders, setting my user running setting to 0 and setting the cpu at say 35, it was super hard to catch up to the cpu even if the cpu player had a lower speed rating than my guys who were chasing him.. And when I played on offense, it felt like the cpu players would immediately get to me. Is that a correct assesment of how that is suppose to operate? If so, I'm definitely not ready for that skill level. Thanks Rickster. And thanks for continuing to contribute to 2K5. From what I've read in the threads, you are one of the "old heads" who has been doing this for while.

Good day sir it is good to finally hear from you on a one on one basis and I'd be more the happy to aid/assist you in explaining the ins and outs of the game,editor and its functions as best I can along with other items needed to enjoy 2K football.

The drop box for PBP holds all the names in the game for players and stands for "Play By Play" these are the names the commenter uses when calling or referencing to a particular player and if he is a player created by the roster maker then chances are the small box next to the PBP is checked indicating to call this player by the "Last Name"only....example....player name in PBP is Tom Jones and the created player is Mike Jones, simply check the box to call out the name Jones....simple.

On the roster settings they are always going to be subjective meaning that if you just go by whats presented in the settings and they don't pan out you'll more then likely need to tweak to to find your "Sweet Spot" for what works for you.

Using that 0 to 35 can work if the other sliders are adjusted to keep up and follow suit, you'll need "Make Up" speed to catch those guys and the slider for that as in "Covering Ground" would more then likely be the "Pursuit" slider which is mis-leading because its basically the defenses speed slider in a sense.

Try tailoring the sliders to fit your skill level and intensity of game play you don't need to try and emulate the sliders point for point and it sounds like the CPU is just too much of a match for you standing at 0...tone it down and pay attention to how it reacts....a 10 pursuit is very fast pursuing a 0 slider setting for the human user I'd lower it and try something in the range of 0 to 4 and go from there.

I have personal preferences and never use a CPU pursuit higher then 4 for my skill level now that works for me along with other personal settings but using a 10 pursuit seems too much for that 0 human run imo....try some things out and get back to me.

Thanks for the info Rickster. I'll test some more slider settings and let you know. I think I understand the slider operations more better now. I think I may have touched base on what you are saying about the sliders when I searched in an old slider thread. I think what I read was something about how the human/cpu sliders relate. Something like this:

Human/Cpu

Passing/Coverage
Running/Tackling
Blocking/Pursuit
And the Catching variable is independent of the operation of another variable.

And vice versa (Cpu/Human). Is that a correct assesment or should the Running slider be competeing with the Pursuit slider or both Pursuit and Tackling? Thanks again for your help sir.

I have not posted a franchise fie yet bro, read further in the thread I mentioned that it is for testing....read compete page for details its mentioned they are for CPU vs CPU test games.
