honestly i get great games with the default sliders. I haven't started my official association yet, i'll wait for the season opener to do that, but in the meantime i'm gonna just tinker with them maybe slightly. I get great games although i do think the defense can be vamped up or maybe the offense toned down slightly. But i think this game plays great. -
eF 5ive, truly, I felt the same way for about a week. Recently I have kept moving around sliders and tendencies and it CAN be fixed. Truly a great game in that it is so much more customizable this year. Don't give up on it. Keep trying and moving things. Like the author said, I started with mkharsh's on Pro and went from there. Hope it works out for you.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13: Finding the Right Gameplay Blend With Sliders
First: why would you care what someone else does with their game?
Second: Real Shot% does take into account release point. I can totally flub a free throw with a great shooter, and it'll miss most times. Seems to me you need to hit the release point accurately and then the player's real life % comes into effect.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13: Finding the Right Gameplay Blend With Sliders
Yeah, there's no such thing as the perfect sliders, because everyone play their way and have their expectations/experiences.
I've seen some slider sets that were supposed to make 2K's basketball such a sim game - that it was more sim than the real-life NBA. Maybe the NBA upper-management guys need to log on to OS and take some advice, because their game, sometimes, seems more cheesy/arcadish than NBA 2K...
I usually look at some suggestions and slider sets, but eventually edit them to my liking. I don't think I have ever used a slider set without changing it a little or a lot until I was satisfied.
Just play and set the game the way you want it to be played. My Specs:

CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
GPU: Monochrome display
RAM: 48 KB
OS: Sinclair BASICComment

how about leaving the slider where it is when you start up the game the first time and playing? So much tinkering around with the game seems like a easy way to take the fun out of the game. I guess for me I play it like it is right out the box and learn to like it that way.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13: Finding the Right Gameplay Blend With Sliders
Im working on a slider set to make the game more physical in the paint on dunk and layup attemps.
Right now I have
All-Star Simulation
Inside Contact Shot Frequency 100
Layup Defense Strength TAKEOFF 100
Layup Defense Strength RELEASE 100
Dunk in Traffic Frequency 45
Dunk in Traffic Success 45
Help defense= 75
Player strength= 100
Blocking= 85
These are working really well for me, but still some instances where defenders wont contest layups, dunks, and up and under moves. Next im going to try turning up defensive awareness, but im already getting my butt kicked by the cpu.Comment

Sound like spoiled children to me. The slider makers spend countless hours trying to get sliders right and we complain because we may have to take about 5 to 10 minutes to write them down? If you wanna be ill with 2k for taking the feature that's one thing. But, complaining b/c you have to do some leg work is asinine...asiten...asileven!!!"Dunks are tough, but when a 35 footer come rainin out the sky...it'll wire you up"Comment

I have been playing 2k for years and the game sliders are a vital part of the game I don't think I would be able to play 2k without them to be honest. It's all about being realistic with me especially when playing on HOF mode, I've been tweaking the sliders since day one and finally think we have a winner the all around game experience has definitely changed and has made this game a lot better though a little harder but I'm up off the challenge are you if so please use the following sliders and give me some feedback on how this changes your 2k experience....

Personally, I tweak my sliders to fit me, nobody else and even if I tried someone else's, guess what? They'd still get tweaked but I understand thag some just don't want to think about having to deal with them because I can see them being a bit overwhelming for some and/or some are just plain too lazy. Lol. Either way, it's all about what suits u best, most definitely.Just cuz you pour syrup on ish....Comment

I'm a big fan of tweaking sliders after a few games on the default setting. I still feel like there are times of too many blocks/steals, but that's why sliders are there. They allow for a customizable experience and a different game. I'm like Steve in the fact that I bump up the shooting a notch for both sides to allow for higher scoring games. Especially from 3, I'm a fan of the 3 ball and passing around the perimeter to find open men. Or driving and kicking. Great article!Go crazy folks! Go crazy! - Jack BuckComment

30 teams x 12 players each... no way I'd be able to master each release & shoot realistic percentages without real % option.Shout out to The Watcher! Where you at bruh?Comment

Re: NBA 2K13: Finding the Right Gameplay Blend With Sliders
I am trying to create a slider set to where it is impossible to score in the paint. I want the defense to be all over the ball handler. In the paint, with slider contact frequency even at 100, I feel there still isn't enough contact. Kris Humphries will make contact with someone like say Evan Turner .... you hear the 'scream' they make, but nothing happens. No altered shot animation. Evan Turner makes the layup like Hump never banged into him. What gives? lolComment
