Re: What is the "real" difficulty of the game?
Playing on coaches mode seems to produce some interesting results. When I play on Pro with the Dream team 12 min Quarters the Dream Team wins 130-80 against the Bobcats but on HOF the Dream Team will lose 90% of the time sometimes by 20.
Seems like the CPU boost is very drastic and extremely unrealistic on HOF.Comment

IMO its all star.
I wonder, why does 2k cant make a playable Hof out of the box? ever since in this mode the AI CPU always cheats(your defense is not awarded, infinite speed boost etc etc.). I really miss NBA Live 2005 that in its Superstar mode(the highest diff setting), it feels a real sim basketball both for user/AI. No cheating, appropriate fastbreak plays. The only thing that annoys me here is the jump shot blocking though.Comment

Allstar with CPU offensive rebounding at 40 plays well most of the time for me, you will still get a few game where the CPU cheats by constantly attacking the basket, the Nets are way to good in this game scoring on the inside.PSN=Coolcas7Comment

Superstar and slightly lower the sliders, I guess.
I don't touch sliders and superstar is difficult. But allstar is way too easy too... So either increase the difficulty of allstar or decrease it in superstar. imoComment

Re: What is the "real" difficulty of the game?
With the superstar sim setting, players we control get pushed off (due to animation and cpu cheating) especially when cpu slashes and tries to dunk/lay the ball in. I once had this really tough battle against the cpu Knicks with the setting and the final score ended up way too high, which was another big issue. I went double overtime and the final score was like 170:161 lol. I was able to win though(Thanks to MJ's clutch performance), but I found myself really exhausted as if I actually played the game lol. I doubt there are people who could enjoy playing it and literally win more than 65% of the games with the setting even for hardcore gamers. Anyways, I don't see the issue(maybe except the high scores) with the all star sim mode. Hence, I have to go with the all star sim.Comment

They all suck.. None of them are realistic.. Used to, I think 2K11 was the last copy that did this, but I always played on hall of fame simply because it looked and felt real..
Now on HOF and somewhat even on superstar the computer makes ridiculous amounts of shots.. It's absurd really. They also get nearly every loose ball, and most of the time seem faster/better at most attributes. On the other hand when playing on HOF my team will miss open jumpers and open lay-ups with people who normally wouldn't do that.. It basically makes our guys suck and their guys good.. Which does make the game harder, but completely destroys realism..
On the other hand, playing down on Pro the other teams guards never attack open lanes, never protect the ball when they dribble, and will stand in spots and drain the shot clock, instead of trying to create themselves or running a play.. Very annoying. Not to mention on pro nobody on my team or CPU misses 3 balls lol..
I've found the best results to be all star/superstar with custom sliders.. But it is still nowhere near the older 2Ks..Comment
