New ccm: play from beginning or sim to this week

When you start/ started your ccm, do you play from the start or do you manipulate it to put you where real team is

Example when I start my bucs ccm today I may make myself 2-4 and play from there

Just curious how y'all do it

I used to just sim up to the current week, making sure I ended up with the same record for whatever team I was playing. So as the Seahawks, I'd be make sure I was at 4-3.

But now, with the XP factor, I play every game (though I'll sim a lot of the plays).

If I don't play the first season then I sim until the first offseason. Playing part of a season for some kind of in-season authentic starting point does nothing for me. As soon as you start the franchise it is it's own reality.

I've actually had my best "franchise" experiences by simming the entire first season. Reason being is I consider myself the coach of whatever team I take over, so as it would be in the real world, I like to start my franchise in the OFF-SEASON ....

          - hire coaching staff
          - hire training staff
          - rework player contracts as needed
          - trade players to make team better fit my scheme/style if needed

          * I prefer to build my team thru the draft, so usually trade a few older vets
and try to compile extra draft picks and build with youth (ala Belicheck).

          - I usually adjust depth chart and sim pre-season games
          - Then play ALL regular season games

I have yet to pick up M13, but if I do I'm planning to try "coach mode" for the first time ... thinking that will offer more of a challenge versus using stick skills to beat the cpu. I ONLY play offline franchise, so getting a realistic challenge from the cpu is top priority!

As the poster above stated, once I start a franchise it takes on it's own reality ... don't care what's going on in the real NFL.
