Simming or playing practise sessions in Coach CCM?

hey guys, im looking for realism meaning i want my players to develope close to real life. i have to admit i dont really know how the whole XP system in madden works. i assume that you can invest the XP you earned in practise into improving the ratings of your players, is that correct so far? and i know that playing the practise sessions yourself provides you with a higher number of XPs. to be honest im actually not very keen on playing through all of them the entire season..
so now im wondering how can i achieve a realistic player progession, will it only be possible with doing all the practises myself (many XP) or will it be enough to sim them ( meaning less XP avaiable for me). or with other words how many experience points are sufficient to have my players developing just as they should, compareable how they do in real life.
ps.if i should have missunderstood the whole concept of player progression and XP please let me know lol

It doesn't really give you an option to "sim" the practices and you don't get any XP just letting them go by when you sim the week.

        thanks for the answer!

ahh i thought you can sim them cos when looking at the "practise" in your "checklist" under "my actions" in ccm it says you simulate the practise by pressing the X bottom. anyways didnt know until now that you get 0 XP when not playing the practise scenarios yourself..
so if i dont play will it still be possible to develope the skills of my players sufficiently (with e.g. the XPs im getting by fulfilling weekly goals)?

You can skip the practices, the only penalty is u don't earn the XPs. After a while they pretty much get repetitous. I've had some good practices. No option to change playbook or opposing strategy though.

You'll be fine - the majority of the XP comes from the actual games but it only goes to the guys who actually play. So, for a position with a good amount of subs (RB, DL), your starters will get a lot of XP & your backups will get a lower amount, but they will have lower ratings that cost less to improve. It works out.

Practice is good if you want to improve a lot of younger guys that won't see the field (especially backup QBs) & get coach XP for scouting. What I usually do is just run Cake Walk, only takes about five minutes with excellerated clock & it's so easy that you can pretty much just look up things on the internet to kill time while it's happening.

that makes no sense that you can simulate practice and not earn the points. if thats true then Madden developers should have given us an option to turn off the xp point system.
IN a ccm, why should the AI controlled teams improve, while you cant!!!

Re: Simming or playing practise sessions in Coach CCM?

It pays off to do the practices, but it definitely is time consuming.

                    Example:

There is a practice called "Easy" which is 3 quarters of football and you start leading 6-3. I usually do this one because it gives you 1800 coach XP and 1500 XP for EVERY player on your roster (I think even for players on IR, but don't quote me on that). One tip here, lower you accelerated clock to like 8 or 9 seconds and this will fly by because it's only 5 minute quarters. This should take maybe 10-15 minutes to play and you're done.

Now over a full season, that's a lot of time to spend on practices, however each one of your players will get an extra 1500 X 16 = 24,000 XP. I'm pretty sure you can't practice during the bye but if you can that's another 1500 XP. Those points will even go to your 3rd string QB, which would be the only way to get him any XP.

im glad they dont give you points for simming. its worth doing, you can even lower the darn difficulty if you want to, then play it, and still get the experience. I do the "offense, defense" but reading that the 6-3 one gives 1500 instead of the 1200 I get doing O/D, Im switching now

                        thanks for elaborating!

but my concern reading this is that my players will develope in a much better way they actually should when im collecting so many XP with every practise.. i want it to be realistic and on abt the same pace as the cpu controlled teams. dont want to have a super team after few seasons with way better ratings than anybody else in the league. is that a reasonable concern? thats what im most worried abt..

Well since you are progressing them, you can just choose not to use all your points. That way if he does well you can use those points to promote realism

man i dont really want to complain abt it, im more caring abt realism as i said before, i will do all practise session if its necessary to develope my team in a realistic way but if this on the other hand would provide me with an excess amount of xp too spend and ill have all players on my roster in the 90s in 2 years then no point in playing all of them. i really prefer the play now practise mode in that case.
