Week 8: New York Giants (5-2) @ Dallas Cowboys (3-3)
Another great sports rivalry, 4:25 on FOX, only game on FOX at that time, so should be seen by the whole country. I got Giants winning 28-27.Red Sox|Patriots|Celtics|UConnTags: None -
Re: Week 8: New York Giants (5-2) @ Dallas Cowboys (3-3)
Here is what it comes down to, to me at least:
Giants defense vs Cowboys offense
I have no doubt Giants will be able to score enough on offense and also don't have much doubt that if we need a stop our defense can get it.
It all comes down to the other side of the ball for both teams, I think.
We gain a decent amount of yards but settle for FGs, I think the Giants D will be happy with that if it continues. If we can finish off drives, and I think we have the talent to do so, then I can see Cowboys winning this by 4. 31-27 if our offense finishes drives off, 24-19 Giants if not. -
Re: Week 8: New York Giants (5-2) @ Dallas Cowboys (3-3)
Im curious to see our defense go up against a more sane offense. Last week was a joke and half by the guys.
Our corners dont consist of Coe and Tryon anymore as they are finally buried on the depth chart again so Im excited to see the secondary perform. I already have Webster giving up at least TDs to Dez and/or Austin because Webster has become our Terrance Newman.
As far as our offense goes, Im not expecting much out of them. Maybe 21 points. I actually think the game will be decided by Eli and the WRs versus the Dallas secondary.
Another key to watch is if Fewell continues to blitz every safety. Whatever look that is where Antrelle and 2 other linebackers blitz has literally equalled points for the other team almost every time. We give up bomb TDs (including the Santana Moss joke last week) because our safties refuse to keep their assignment. Oh and If our front seven decides to tackle. That is important too as their lack of motivation by the final quarter of games has given us 2 losses so far.Comment

I hope the Giants utilise their ground game more than they did against Washington. 18 total carries when you have three great backs and have been pummeling teams the last few weeks?
I don't know if it was Gilbride's calls or Manning's audibles, but the fact they keep turning to the malfunctioning passing game was a tad odd.Comment

This is always a fun matchup. I think we have learned a few things from what Romo and RG3 did to us. We need to keep Romo from escaping the pocket and making throws on the run. I think we'll do a better job this time and get the win.XBL: Mean Greene

Re: Week 8: New York Giants (5-2) @ Dallas Cowboys (3-3)
Not looking forward to this game. The G-Men are playing at a high level, and we aren't. Putting 29 on Baltimore's second string defense isn't impressive. I think we're really gonna struggle on O. If the Cowboys win it'll have to be a 17-14 type of game.
Jason Garrett needs to suck it up and run the football. I don't care if we average 2 YPC on our first 6 attempts. If every team stopped running the ball when they didn't succeed early, there would be no teams in the league that are any good at it. I don't want Romo throwing it 38 times like he has in 4 of 5 games this season. If they're patient with the run and end up finding some success, we have a chance.
And obviously...minimize penalties. Of course, its the Cowboys, so thats just a pipe dream :/Originally posted by Kaiser Wilhelmthere should not be ties occurring in the NFL except when neither team wins the game.Comment

It's Cowboys & G'Men... anything happens. And when I say anything it generally means the most ridiculous, stupid, and negative turn of events for the Cowboys every time.
The Cowboys will have to play better than week 1 to beat this team because they're hot right now.Comment

Just read that Sean Lee may miss the rest of the year with season ending surgery on his toe. I doubt he goes through with the surgery if he can play on it though.Comment
