Short side goal exploit?

Everyone I'm playing online is doing this one move where you come in short side at an angle, deke backhand-to-forehand, and the goalie will either cheat off the post, or will cover up every space and the puck will still go in no matter what. It's gotten to the point where this move will work even when you're below the goal line. The only reason I haven't labeled this a full-blown glitch goal is because it doesn't work 100% of the time, but maybe no one has found the best way to do so. Either way, it's gotten extremely annoying and the goalies should not be giving up goals like that. They shouldn't even be biting on a deke like that. Anyone else had this used against them? It sounds familiar. The worst short side ones I see are the ones from a foot away lifted almost straight up over the shoulder. As someone that plays goal off and on thats the most annoying one. nothing you can do about it.

Okay, I just lost a game where all 4 goals the opponent scored were short side. Every single goal. This crap is ridiculous. And now they don't even need to do the backhand-forehand deke, they can just shoot short side and the goaltender is just too stupid to deal with it.

Just watched the video frame by frame. That shot went through the net... backside of the goal post!!! Total BS.

I've played a lot against top players in this game (Versus), played about 100 games, and I've never seen this goal happen to me once.

I've played NHL 11 and 12 and people always come in like this, I only score my goals from the point like most players do in real life... Only one game I've seen is where someone shot from the point and not the shortside.

Yeah, I popped in a short side goal once. But I can't seem to it again. I don't even try anymore. Scoring works when you use a variety of strategies and get pressure in front of the net, and shoot from higher percentage areas.

For some reason I freewheel a ton, vs the computer I always create offense on the rush and from the point, I would use behind the net if I could actually get a pass off to a forward near the net

Okay, finally got a video of the typical short side goal everyone uses online in HUT. Once again, the goalie should not be biting on this move and going down into the butterfly and leaving the whole short side open for an easy goal. This is Antii Niemi on Pro settings giving up the goal, but it could very easily happen on All-Star and Superstar as well.<br />

I've yet to see any type of exploit goal in this game.

It's true that short side shots and dekes go in way too much, and that juicy rebounds happen too frequently off weak wristers, but those are more tuning issues with the goalie programming than a real exploit.

Yes, I shouldn't have used the word "exploit," it's too strong a word for what this is. It's a shot or move that just happens to work too often than it should and as a result you have a lot of online players using it because of the shortcomings in the goaltender AI. Doesn't make it any more tolerable, however.
