    More 2K Bs..

Has anyone ever been sucked into or away from a Ball handler so they can get past/around the defender?? Well i have and 2K made it like that on purpose. That's why players Like Chris Paul can turbo from the inbounds pass all the way to the basket without begin touched.

I know what you mean. Like Lebron in a dunk animation and the person he's dunking on is sliding backwards with no collision animation.

Yeah, that's especially bad online...it's absurd. A player like, let's say, Melo has the ball. If you guard him too closely he'll dribble right past you to the basket, But, if you back off AT ALL he'll just rise up and knock down any jumper. It KILLS me.

Yeah, because shooting is cheese in this game and it's even worse online because the difficulty is on Pro by default. So that only obviously makes things worse. But to add insult to injury...you can't (literally) play defense on this game. So there's no way to compensate for this.

Melo is indeed a problem, although he was superhuman in 2K11 with his bump shots which were automatic. When ever I've played the Knicks online with the Celtics, I can NEVER seem to match up well. Pierce is usually on him, but then when he just blows past Pierce, I try to put Bradley on him, but Bradley gives up 6 inches in the post to Melo, so then I have to put Courtney Lee on him. In a quick ranked game, it's probably best to start Bradley or Terry at PG and then have Lee come in as 6th man. Maybe try Jeff Green as well. When all the back court Knicks can shoot, Rondo is just a liability.

I think with people who know what they're doing, Melo is better than LeBron, although I'm sure 2K has overrated his 3. Talking of ratings, I dunno if Delonte West was injured for most of the year or something, but his dunk rating is 48. Ridiculous, you can't dunk with him at all. This is a guy who wasn't afraid to DUNK ON the Miami Heat a few years ago(albeit he blew the dunk).

              Re: More 2K Bs..

I agree wholeheartedly...I cannot tell you how infuriated I was at this game last night because of his superhuman abilities. 2K's lucky the good far outweighs the bad, because the bad can be mindnumbing sometimes.

I was Washington, playing some guy who was the Knicks. With a minute or so to go in the 4th quarter I was up 4. The score was 45-41, and I had played a well-balanced game, distributing to all my scorers, and playing clutch defense. Then, the last minute of the fourth rolls around, and Melo's unholy cocktail of signature skills kicks in, and I never had a chance. He starts running down the court and popping J's right in Wall, Crawford, and even Nene's face and hitting every single one of them (because he's a deadeye, a closer, and clutch!!).

I manage to keep the lead, until I have possession with about 28 seconds to go, up 1. OF COURSE 2K decides that John Wall needs to have the ball ripped from his hand by Shumpert for no apparent reason while I'm dribbling the clock out around the perimeter. I get back on D, knowing EXACTLY what the guys going to do...put a TRIPLE TEAM on Melo, user-control one of the defenders and put a body on him. I KNOW I got contact because the controller vibrated hard, but still swish...I lose by a point.

I cannot emphasize enough how stupid of an addition to the 2K franchise signature skills was...it's nice in principle but in practice it just serves to stupidly overpower certain players in certain situations (who else is eagerly anticipating the addition of deadeye Mr. Jeremy Lamb to an already stacked OKC roster?).

                That's Melo.

He has interviews saying if you play close on him he'll blow right by you. If you back off and give him space, he'll pop the jumper.

Shooting and defense is just fine.

So Carmelo Anthony is suppose to be stopped in the 4th quarter by John Wall, Jamal Crawford and Nene(who's a missmatch on the perimeter for Melo?

Your a ummmmm I can't say on OS, I don't want to get banned. Everybody does not have to feel the same way about the game that you do, the game has issues and the more you play it the more you see it, nobody saying we need a perfect game but somethings need to be fixed. Players should not be in god mode every game, I like 2k as much as the next person but will admit somethings are off.

Ummm...what AllStarDon said is pretty much observed and established fact. The first quote is from someone who obviously has never seen Melo. The second quote is from someone who is flat out lying. The third quote deserves some sympathy as fastbreak threes seem to be cheese in this game, but ASD's obvious rebuttal would be "Why are you complaining if you're playing quick ranked?"

Seriously bro...you need to chill out. I wasn't criticizing your beloved 2K...HOWEVER I don't give a damn what Melo said in interviews, the FACT is that the guy shoots about 40% from the field, not the 70% this game will have you believe. And yes, dude's clutch...but in this game far too often "clutch" translates to "can turbo around in circles and pull up for a random, contested midrange jumper over a 6'11forward (who was NOT on the perimeter) and drain it. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Defend that all you want, but that's not "just Melo", that's a flawed "sig skills" system.

Don't co-sign somebody else feelings, this is a video game, there are no FACTS unless it's scripted game play. Your making wild assumption based on an opinion. Melo is a great player but he has off days and I believe he shot his worst from the field last year, but none of this bothers me as much as why people try to down others who have issues with the game, let a dude breathe and vent his concerns.

Oh...and let me go ahead and say...I understand it's quick online, I'm not losing sleep over it or anything, it's just a game. Still sucks to lose like that. And it's happened to me twice. I got hit with a literal fadeaway 3 by Paul Pierce to beat me the same way. If I weren't always playing as a craptacular defensive team like Washington I realize I wouldn't be in that situation in the first place but still...I hate feeling like its out of my hands because a player is a "finisher" or "clutch".

Yeah...I unequivocally have seen Melo play...quite a lot actually. I know basketball just as well as everyone else on this forum. I qualified my first post by saying the good far outweighs the bad. Hell, I admit that Melo is one of the best pure scores in the league and is filthy off isos. HOWEVER, you simply cannot tell me it's somehow fair that some chump slams R2 down and sprints around in circles before pulling up for a baseline J out of the blue right in 6'11 Nene's face, I get the contact, the controller vibrates, but it's still money because Melo is "clutch". I'd be perfectly fine if I got beaten by Melo with a move to the basket or a step back midrange J, he hits that all the time. I'm just saying he's barely guardable in the 4th to the point that it's out of your hands.

Here's the thing, Melo can hit that shot in that scenario in real life. But I feel what you're saying about superstars being over powering. I think once they up the difficulty and patch the game, all will be fine. Right now it's like this online to appease the casual gamers who love arcade basketball. Unfortunate, but they out number us Sim heads. Also, I think sig skills are an incredible addition, just needs some tweaking.

For sure, they're great offline. I just get annoyed how imbalanced the "finisher" and "clutch" skills are in online games.
