Unable to permanently change coach's scheme for individual positions?

I'm playing as the Eagles and Andy Reid, and I'm not trying to overhaul the entire defense, but I'm just trying to change DT 1 and DT 2 from Balanced to Pass Rusher. Fletcher Cox jumps 7 points (73 to 80) when under this scheme, and Patterson and Jenkins stay relatively the same.

Only problem is if I go into a game or exit offline career, it reverts back to the original Balanced. I've heard people say to just "wait it out" but I'm in my second season and it DID NOT change automatically. All four of my DT's have pass rusher as their player type, so one would think if it actually did change by itself it would have after a full offseason. This is just like the stupid bug where when you go into a game you have to change it to conventional every damn time. And if there is a patch for it I don't know how I'd get it because I don't have Xbox Live..

This was an issue pre-patch, however afaik they did fix this in patch #3.

You do not need Xbox live (gold) to get the patch, you merely need an internet connection. Xbox silver (the free version) is just fine. Hope that helps.

Fair enough, I had not experienced the bug again. Good to know.

Thanks I'll check it out. But do you know if this affects anything besides ratings? I mean this is my first career so I'm still somewhat new to this. I have other players out of scheme but if I change it to their specific type the ratings don't plummet or surge at all. Just Cox does which I find odd.

                Incredibly frustrating glitch.

Why? It doesn't change anything. It is just people focusing too much on the overall.

Nothing about schemes/player types really works or has any impact.

I thought a player was more willing to resign with the team if he fit the scheme and player type. In fact, I know it's the case because when you go to resign it has that stuff listed. There are also rumors that if a player fits your scheme he gets more xp, but I haven't done any test to know for sure about that one.

None of my guys fit and the only ones I don't resign are the ones I just end negotiations with or if I just tried under pricing them and they got mad about it. I've resigned 95% of the players that I've wanted to.

Scheme/XP could be related.....but again....none of my guys fit and I've bought an awful lot of XP packages.
