    End of season progression?

As the title suggests, I've got a question regarding end of season progression. Is it still there, or was it removed after the XP feature was added in?

It's still there.....sort of. If you make your season goals you will get a bunch of XP that can be used for significant boosts. The automatic progression that used to happen at the end of the season is gone tho.

      It has been removed.

With XP this year you have a few options. You can manually progress your players whenever you want (weekly, every other week, build it up and wait till the end of the year) or select auto progress. This means that your players can progress at any time during the season, so at end of season progression would be meaningless now.

I'd say the closet thing to it is certain milestone goals. Each player has season goals, your players will receive this after the season ends if the goal is met. This can be a good amount of XP for a player and could boost his OVR.

Thanks fellas. I thought that was the case, but I was just wanting to make sure.

        Cheers.

Regression is still there though. Champ Bailey's speed takes a major hit by the 3rd and 4th seasons

Bumping this thread to say that I saw questionable REGRESSION in our OS Vets CCM

My QB John Skelton saw his accuracy drop a couple points in MAC & DAC I believe. I had it recorded before the season ended. This was the first season of our CCM, so Skelton went from 24-25 years old. Why on earth is a young player regressing in accuracy when he is still developing? As you can imagine I am not pleased with this news as I'll have to spend ~10,000XP to get him back where he was.

Also noticed QB Kirk Cousins had his SAC drop 1 pt. He was a rookie and played much of the season.

I do not understand why young players regress. I could see if Cousins regressed due to a poor TD:INT ratio. When Skelton came in at the end of the year, he did a tremendous job and posted great stats. Zero reason for him to regress.

I don't understand it either. I think it's the team's way of instilling some fluidity in the game, but when it comes without explanation (even a news center item that says, "Oh god, Kirk Cousins was in a car accident in the offseason!") it feels empty and unwarranted.

Good to know I have this to look forward to after our league advances. Uggh.

Agreed. I have no issue with regression. I actually welcome it!

I'm going to have a new saying with regards to video games:

                Implementation, implementation, implementation!!!

You could argue that regression is a legacy thing too, though. They've had it in past games, after all.

TBH, I'd love to see more legacy code stripped out and the game cleaned up before too many more features get implemented. And I'd love to see a cleaner CCM.

So, implementation, clean it up! Implementation, clean it up!

There is still progression and regression but not as significant as previous years. You won't see 5-10 point increases like before but I've seen players increase 1-2 points. Like in my Bills CCM awhile ago, I traded for Kellen Moore and he went from a 67 to 69 after a 9-7 3,800 yard season. After buying XP packages, he was 73.

Maybe it was due to not being a consistant starter In M12 it was quite important for players to be starters on the depth chart, in order to progress well. Maybe it still has an impact in M13?

Just curious but what do you all prefer for progression? Weekly, every four weeks, or end of season? What seems to work best in CCM? I heard weekly is bad because the CPU doesn't save any XP and just spends it when they get it.

                          Re: End of season progression?

Hmm, I'm not too sure about this, but I think I remember reading somewhere it's because of the season goals.

Each player has a season goal in 4 tiers. I don't remember exactly how it was, but if you didn't hit tier 2 or 3 the player would regress, regardless of age, in the offseason.

                          Could this be what's happening?
