    WWE '13 Ratings Thread

Hey all, I figured I'd go ahead and get a ratings thread started. After having the game for a full day, I think it's pretty apparent that the ratings are simply not spread out enough. There is no reason a guy like R-Truth should be an 87, and then a guy like Undertaker a 93. The difference between the two is so minimal, that my guess is (in a CPU-CPU match) you'd only see 'Taker win about 60% of the time.

So what I wanted to do here is kick off a ratings thread where people can make suggestions about superstars ratings. In my opinion, it would behoove all of us to truly stretch the ratings to the point where we are almost on a scale of 50-100, with players only being ranked in the 90's if they are legends (HHH, 'Taker, HBK, etc.). Anyway, I look forward to hearing everyones opinions. Not only would this really help Universe Mode, but it would help gameplay in a sense that we may be able to get less reversals from both the CPU (on Legend) and Human.

Going to run a few test matches with re-rated superstars, so I'll let you guys know how it goes.

This is a project that a couple of us had done last year. It makes a big difference. As stated earlier, the ratings are not spread out enough. The Santino's shouldn't beat the Undertakers, nor should they be stronger. Obviously, THQ didn't put much thought into the ratings because they are all too close together to be "sim".

I had uploaded an excel file in the thread I started. We should close one of these threads and "sticky" them.

I will post the file in this one and if it gets closed then i'll just put it in the other one, but we can compare and contrast the ratings we did and go on from there.

Could you tell me how to attach the file in here? When I try to upload it there is an error.

Has to be in a zip file. Zip of the excel file and then at the bottom of the message box is an option to "manage attachments". Click that and upload.

I'll compare the two files. Right now, all mine consists of are the original ratings. No tweaks. And no DLC are contained in my file because we don't have that yet.

From your desktop, you can just right click on it, and select "Send to zip" or something like that. Upload that zip file.

So what was your theory behind your re-ratings. Trying to figure out what you did. Plus, don't forget the limb damage stats. I believe those are the actual HIT POINTS of each wrestler. Increasing / decreasing those can make a difference.

                    Re: WWE '13 Ratings Thread

I did this like 3 weeks before release so I had no idea about the limb targeting. I wanted to have matches go a little longer and I wanted the superstars to have their own kind of identity (Big Show is powerful, but in order for him to be very powerful and balance it out his durability had to be low). This is because I wanted the super heavyweights to have higher strike and grapple powers than everybody else (which shows their dominance) but their downfalls are not being able to reverse well and durability (with the thought in mind of if you are going to win as them, your gonna have to brawl-out in the beginning and stay with the upper hand).

I wanted there to be a few stars such as Cena, HBK, Rocky, Austin, Taker, etc that are pretty much high in everything and "poor at few" (basically, they do not have many weaknesses).

After that everyone else should have some kind of weakness. Punk is a striker, so his striking is high, but his grapple power is lower than normal to compensate for this.

Again the reason why you see most people lower than expected (at least in the strike and grapple power areas) is because I really wanted to differentiate the stars from others, super heavys from others, and I wanted there to be real jobbers. My thought process in rating these guys was pretty much solely from what I see on TV. Doesn't matter if I don't like someone like Cena (I do, just an example) if I see him winning and holding his own against top guys then his rating is going to be good. Then I compared him to people that I believe are on his level (ex: he is better at grappling IMO so this would be his main attribute that I judge from (between strike and grapple power), so I compare him to the better grapplers on the roster and then set his strike power a little lower to compensate). If someone is good at both or at least grapples or strikes dont stand out to me for that person then I just put them as the same number.

Dont pay attention to the global -20 things I just forgot to take those off

That's pretty much similar to how I rate them. I'll give this a shot this week.

You gave Undertaker a 95 in Strike Power, but 90 is the highest that his strike power can go. What should I do?

Just put it the highest it ca go for strike and grapple power then, nothing you can really do about that.
