Girl Meets World - Disney's series sequel to original show

No word on when this would actually debut.

The follow-up show would center on the daughter of the unendingly loveable couple Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel).
Per TV Line, the network is trying to get Savage and Fishel to reprise their roles from the original series, with THR adding that Boy Meets World co-creator/executive producer Michael Jacobs is behind this sequel series as well.
Like many things, it would be interesting if done right. Boy Meets World had some "cheese," but it was good cheese. Disney shows today just don't have that. With some original cast and crew, I hope this isn't a complete disaster.

I used to love watching Boy Meets World. Definitely interested to see how this turns out.

I've never been more conflicted over a tv series in my life.

      So I'll be watching.

Loved it until they went to college. Except Plays With Squirrels, best episode ever.

I'll give it a shot, but my gut feeling is it won't be good.

FYI, I don't know if this is new or just new to me, but they show reruns on MTV2. It's on right now actually.

I just noticed the reruns last week.. been watching it pretty frequently.

Like others, I'm hopeful about the new show, but skeptical. I'll check it out though.

I didn't get too into it as a kid as my brother was a die hard so I saw a lot of the show. College seasons were just not right to me.

I'm curious to see if this does the old one justice. Not that it will we please the Boy Meets World vets.

Who will play Corey and Topanga? If they bring the original actors then I could see it getting a fan following just to see those two. But that may undermine the new generation actors.

                This will probably be terrible.

But who am I fooling? I will still watch this show.

God I loved me some boy meets world. I still catch it on ABC family in the mornings before class sometimes.

The show got better once they went to college. Only thing that was worse about the show was that it focused less on the adults(their parents and Fenny). I wonder if Feeny will be in this show too. I know in the show, an alternate scenario happened where he retired in 2006(lol,remember when watching that episode, and 2006 was "the future"), would be funny if he came back and taught their daughter.

I hope this isn't a show targeted towards girls though. BMW was targeted towards the entire family, and their studio audience was REAL. Real reactions and everything, don't think I ever saw any other tv show with better audience reactions.

This will be great if it airs on ABC. It sucks how good ABC used to be. 80s and 90s with their TGIF lineup and saturday morning shows too. Friday nights had highest tv ratings back then.

College years were too cheesy and unrealistic. I hated what they did w/ Cory's character. The episodes before college, I felt I was watching people's lives. The episodes during college felt like a tv show.

I wonder how old the kid would be. The alternate scenario showed them with a kid in 2006, meaning the kid would be like 7-8 years old by now, but you never know what they might come up with for the show.

BMW though is the most inconsistent show ever lol. Remember the high school, with the "magic door" aka the washroom/principals office/janitors closet and any other room lol.

And the fact that one season, they were in 7th grade, the next, they magically became high school seniors
