    Spin City!!

I just beat a person on My Team and all they did the whole game was the spin move (dunk, layup, shot) all game with each player on the court; Examples - Lebron, Howard, Duncan, Paul, and Kobe. It was really frustrating because it kept the game close. Then when I would stop the move he would kick it out for a 3 with Paul or Lebron. Does someone have a tip to stop this Spin Move Cheese?

Lower your help defense slider in coaching profiles all the way to 0. In defensive settings play tight or deny ball on all shooters off ball. Then allow the computer to play on ball d against the ball handler while you control the center (or power forward) whoever is holding a guy that doesn't have a jumper. User him to come over and play hands up (right stick up) on the spinning player (a manual double).

This is the only strategy that I've found effective, but even then its still tough.

Honestly there is no true way to stop it but you can slow it down or block the dunk attempt.

Use steal instead of block. You'll strip the ball when they bring it up instead of trying to block it.

yeah, this "spin" cheese is killing the online experience for me. the matchups mean nothing, the defense plays mean nothing, it's useless to try and playing the passing lanes (which I am pretty good at). all these dorks do is spin, spin, spin. this "iso" crap isn't for me. I would rather play traditional basketball, and if someone gets by me then let them have their fancy dunk or awe-inspiring alley oop. i'm okay with that, let's just play "real" basketball. how old are most of these characters? do they play online a lot?

              These threads make me smile.

I sometimes question whether I should venture online this year as I love the game so much, but then seeing things like this reminds of how utterly shiz online is.

I'm having far too much fun playing my season offline.

dave, good to hear that my wife and i are playing in association mode with two teams. she has new orleans, i have cleveland. she's still learning the game of basketball in general, but there are times when we play that i think she could give some folks some fits with this game. she doesn't get rattled, nor even that upset if i'm clobbering her (i get a lot of steals with my perimeter defense) and can hit shots left and right with a hand in her face, lol. just yesterday i started working with her on getting in the habit of setting up a defense everytime down the court. we played one game where she had a bad first quarter, and a second quarter that wasn't as bad, but then she outscored me in the second half. this game does have issues, but it's a very pretty one. i absolutely love it when the commentators go off their rockers after a nasty dunk

I agree that steals work better, especially during the late spin/gather part. It'll obviously work better on the bigs like Howard/Duncan than LeBron.. but still.
