Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?
CLUB: Manchester United
SEASON WITH CLUB: Second Season completed
CURRENCY: U.S. Dollar
Just completed my second season with Manchester United. I am shocked by how much the youngsters have grown. I'll bring you up to speed.
On the first season, I brought in a total of 7 youth kids:
- RW Juan Iturbe (74) - FC Porto
- ST Cristian Ludi (71) - Free Agent
- CB Carl Barker (70) - Scouted in England
- LW Raheem Sterling (69) - Liverpool
- CAM Miguel Varela (69) - Scouted in Spain
- LW Viktor Fischer (67) - Ajax
- CAM Franco Gomez (66) - Scouted in Spain
Since Ashley Young (83) was sold to Real Madrid, Juan Iturbe plays substitute for Valencia. Fischer, Sterling, Ludi, Varela and Gomez play during the FA and Capital One cup championships. These kids have grown significantly within the two years at Man Utd.
Iturbe - 80
Sterling - 78
Barker - 76
Fischer - 76
Ludi - 75
Varela - 74
Gomez - 72
Other Significant Growth Stats After 2 Seasons:
GK David De Gea - (80) to (84)
RB Rafael Da Silva - (77) to (82)
CB Chris Smalling - (78) to (85)
CB Phil Jones - (78) to (83)
CB Jonny Evans - (77) to (81)
LB David Alaba - (77) to (83)
LB Alexander Buttner (71) to (76)
RM Antonio Valencia - (83) to (87)
CAM Shinji Kagawa - (83) to (89)
CAM Tom Cleverley - (78) to (82)
LM Nani - (85) to (89)
CF Sergio Aguero - (87) to (90)
ST Havier Hernandez - (82) to (86)
ST Danny Welbeck - (79) to (83)
There are also players who have dropped stats respectively.
Michael Carrick was loaned out to Galatasaray for the entire second season, he had dropped to (77). Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs retired at the end of the first season, both dropped from (81) to (78). Vidic (90) dropped to (85) after 2 seasons. Vidic is now worth $15.5 Million, so I'll be looking to cash in on the 32 year old at the start of season 3. Ferdinand is now at (77).
Season 2 Transfers:
I wasn't planning on spending a dollar during the transfer season but then a shocking transfer requested was made by a great player. Juventas Aturo Vidal handed in a request during the January transfer season, with my budget sitting at $110 million, I jumped at the chance to get him before Juventas decided to keep him. I offered a player plus cash: $20 Million + Darren Fletcher. Juventas accepted the offer, and Vidal became a United player. He is the only CDM in the squad rated (85). Juventas took the extra funds and bought an unsettled Edin Dzeko from Man City. City were able to acquire Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid soon after. It was the most active transfer season to date.
Achievements:
I dominated the league and managed to run away with the points to end up grabbing the title. I was 5 points ahead of second place Manchester City, who were 2 points ahead of Newcastle United. That's the second time Newcastle finished 3rd. Last season they were 2 points below me and 5 points ahead of City. They've been brilliant in both seasons. My youngsters Played in all Competitions: Capital One, FA and the Euro Champions Cups. They won the FA and Capital One Cup but were completely outplayed by Barcelona in the finals of the Euro Championship. Even though they didn't win, it was a great game. We couldn't break down Barcas defense in the box while they were tearing ours apart (had to resort to long range shots). The final score was Man Utd 1-3 Barcelona.
International
A lot of International offers were made and I declined all of them hoping to land the position to manage either Spain, Portugal or Germany. Then England offered.. thought about it for a while, and then decided to take it. Will see how that goes
Future
I'll keep scouting players and selling them to other teams to bolster the game with young players (something I did in Fifa 12). The current Man U kids are the next big thing. I have no interest in buying the likes of Neymar, Hazard, Eriksen etc.. My transfer fund is currently at $130 Million.Last edited by Crysbayb; 11-18-2012, 07:20 PM.Comment

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?
I don't like the fact players grow so much just because you're managing them, wish there was an option to turn it off or limit it to a few of your players.
ANyways in my David beckham player manager career, my second season In the MLS i finished top of the conference but lost in the playoffs. I was ready for a change and applied for the mighty Bournemouth job vacancy in league one, I got it (how could they refuse) they expected me to get them promoted with only eight games left of the 2013-14 season with them sitting in mid-table. Results were mixed so league one It was for the new season.
Spain won the World cup surprise surprise.
For the new season I signed becks himself from the free agent market now a 61 but can still take a free kick, also signed on loan a 17 old I scouted at galaxy a 69 Rb/Rw. I inherited a strong league one squad and after 8 games sit top with a 7-1-0 record :0 Dumped out of league cup to Shrewsbury on pens but still in the JPT.

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?
Been a while since I made an update, currently I'm on Dec 3, 2017, My team still hasn't won a single trophy under my management, but last year we qualified for the Euro league for the first time, eventually losing in the Round of 16 against Valencia. The bigger shock was a 3rd place finish in the standings, and while we weren't close to contending to 1st, it was a huge improvement for my team.
Problems continue with maintaining players though, despite the great strides taken by the team.
First of all, to begin last season, Joe Hart demanded transfer and went to Manchester United, where he won the EPL Championship. To replace him, I hired Marc-Andre Ter Stegen. He wasn't terrible last season, helping the team to the 3rd place finish, but in big games he doesn't seem to have the desire to win. Looking to replace him, I've already begun to play my youth-promoted goaltender Emile Southern in league games and also a few Champions League games. He's only 67 overall, but has been relatively impressive in his games.
For my back line, there have been more changes as well. Ciaran Clark continues to lead the group, now at 85 overall. Daniele Rugani from Italy, has grown to an 82, and Another CB that I bought from Juventus, Hordur Magnusson, from Iceland, has grown to an 80 overall and starts quite a bit. My fullbacks are now Luke Humphreys of England from the youth squad at LB and Rodrigo Silva Umbelino of Brazil at RB. Other back-up Defenders are James Goulbourne (80) of England, Ben Kane (71) of England, Jake Scott (74) of England, Steve Lansbury (75) of England and Damon Massey (76) of England.
My midfield has grown and I have tons of options now behind my clear starters. I have had my problems though, with my top CAM Sidqy (85) demanding transfer in the last window, as well as a few other guys who weren't from the first team. Right now my mid is led by Fransisco Prats Bastidas (84), from Spain, who has really impressed with his playmaking abilities. On the wide spots I have Federico Vazquez (85)from Argentina and Alexander Konrad (85) from Germany. The other midfield spot is under constant rotation, with Danny Griffiths (78) of England, Pavle Lazovic (81) of Serbia, Craig Morris (79) of Wales, Jordan Webster (80) of England, Will Akinde (78) of England, and Alexander Jaakkola (82) of Finland.
Subs who I've been trying to loan out are Bradley Chapman (70) of England, Korede Southern (74) of England, Heath Kennedy (76) of America, Alan Osman (68) of England, Christian Heimeroth (73) of Germany, Richard Watt (74) of England, Jonathan Hopper (72) of England, Miles Paterson (70) of England, Matt Jarvis (76) of England and John Thalassitis (75) England.
My Attackers now include CF's in Esteban Lanzini (85) from Argentina and Alexandr Kozlov (83) of Russia. Andrea Martinetti (88) of Italy, returns after I sold him last season. With Djordjevic and Ebbers, my top two strikers last year, demanding transfer, I wasn't 100% secure with my young players leading my team in the Champions League. Other strikers are Bagasan Carrington (81) of England, Josh Kitson (76) of England, Jason Bishop (73) of England, Shaun McGlashan (71) of England, Adam Evans (76) of England and Leandro Basanta (79) of Argentina. Basanta plays quite a bit depite not having the best stats, as for some reason him, Lanzini and Vazquez play really well together, I attribute it to them being from Argentina.
Anyways, right now we're sitting 8th in the table after 16 games, 9 points behind Arsenal for 4th. We are also about to play our final Group Stage game in Champions League. We are 3rd in the group, 3 points behind Sevilla FC right now, but they play group leading Porto and we are currently even on goal differential. I'm about to play Olympiakos CFP, who I beat 5-1 in the first round. If I happen to make it out of the Group Stage, I will get a few guys who return from injury, which will be key moving forward.Colorado AvalancheWest Ham United

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?
Liverpool - Season 2 - Summer Transfer Window
Starting the summer transfer window I was given £22m to spend on new transfers. Players returning from loan included Andy Carroll, Jay Spearing, Adam Morgan and Stephen Sama. I sent Sama and Morgan back to the loan list and cut the cord on Carroll and Spearing, placing them on the transfer list.
With Nuri Sahin’s loan expiring I was keen on bringing him back on a permanent basis and enquired as to how much it would cost me, thinking he may be a bit pricey for my liking I also enquired about Xabi Alonso as a possible cheap alternative because he hadn’t signed a new contract yet. They wanted £19.5m for Sahin and £9m for Alonso, I passed on Sahin and offered the £9m for Alonso only to be turned down and told they now wanted £13.5m, I haggled for £11m but was ultimately refused.
I still needed a CM who could operate as a deep lying playmaker or a box to box CM. Someone who could play in front of Lucas/Casemiro and behind my CAM to really dictate the pace of play with their passing while being able to get involved in both the offense and defense when necessary.
Plan B behind Sahin all along was Alex Witsel but he had grown to an 85 OVR and moneybags Zenit wanted £22m for him, my whole summer budget.
I passed and realized I was going to have to do some scouting, but not much. Andrea Poli fit the bill on everything I needed, a great passer who is technically gifted all around and can operate effectively in defense when paired with a true CDM. He was also young, has room to grow and could be relatively inexpensive. I enquired about how much Sampdoria would be willing to accept to part ways with him, they asked for £15m, which I offered, when something interesting happened.
After a great showing his first year in the EPL (12 Goals, 4 Assists) Assaidi attracted some attention, after rejecting a £12m bid from Arsenal and giving them a £20m quote to scare them off they returned with a £16.5 bid. This put me in a tough spot, Sterling was developing nicely and could possibly handle the starting spot and with that £16.5m I could possibly pick up Andrea Poli along with a long term replacement for Gerrard.
In the middle of all this Stoke came in with an £8m bid for Carroll but I asked for £10 which they deemed to high and pulled out. I accepted a £2m bid from QPR for Spearing and loaned out Stephen Sama and Adam Morgan.
I decided to pull the trigger on the Assaidi deal and immediately enquired about the availability of Christian Eriksen, my first choice to replace Gerrard.
Sampdoria informed me they had accepted my £15m bid for Poli and I was given an £18m quote for Eriksen but decided to take a shot at £16m, and was absolutely floored when Ajax accepted the bid, the same day Poli accepted his contract. I was now left hoping Arsenal would complete the deal with Assaidi or I’d be able to sell Carroll and bolster my transfer funds so I could go complete the deal for Eriksen before Ajax pulled out and asked for more money.
Bayern Munich came in with a £7.5m bid for Carroll which I decided to take, finally putting and end to the Andy Carroll saga on Merseyside, albeit with a £27.5m loss. Assaidi sold and I was able to complete my move for Eriksen. Quickly, quietly and seemingly out of the blue I was able to put together an extremely solid midfield that will only get better in the future.
With Lucas/Casemiro I have 2 players who are absolute anchors in front of my back 4, they have high tackling, marking and aggression stats and provide great cover for my other two midfielders when they get involved in the attack.
With Poli/Allen I have two great passers who are very good on the ball, they provide excellent link up play between defense and attack and can dictate the flow of the game with their passing, both players can operate as CAM/CDM’s in a pinch and allow the CAM complete license to push forward when paired with one of my true CDM’s.
With Eriksen/Gerrard I have two offensive juggernauts who can bomb forward and do what they do best, attack, knowing they have great cover behind them in their 2 midfield partners. Best of all, with the oldest of the trio Casemiro/Poli/Eriksen being 23 I should be looking at one of the best midfields in the league for the foreseeable future.
Having planned to have a quiet summer with just 1 or 2 additions this was already quite a bit more activity than I was planning on, but it was just the tip of the iceberg.
Cisse didn’t quite live up to expectations for me during the 2nd half of last season once he made the move from Newcastle. In fact, he made 10 appearances for Newcastle without scoring a single goal during the first half of the season, after his transfer he went on to make 16 appearances for me and only managed to net once, the only goal in a 1-0 victory at the Emirates. He didn’t quite fit in well with the way I played, I tried him as a CF behind Suarez to use him hold up play and also leading my line as the main Striker with Suarez behind him but neither seemed to work for me, he did manage 5 assists but still did not pan out the way I had hoped at all.
So when both Genoa and Juventus offered me £13.5m the same day I decided to open up negotiations. I decided to price him at £20m and got return bids of £17.5m and £19.5, I accepted the latter from Juventus and managed to make a £6.5m profit on my investment despite his poor form.
Having a bit more money that I had originally anticipated when I sold Assaidi I decided to buy a replacement for him rather than let Sterling start and went with Erik Lamela, Roma’s Argentinean wonder kid, a high potential acrobatic trickster who was a bargain at £9.5m. This allows me to set up with the left footed Lamela on the RW and the right footed Schurrle on the LW, allowing them both to cut inside and shoot or take on their man and get in a cross.
I spent the remaining summer transfer budget on high quality youth who will not feature much in the first team yet.
I purchased Kurt Zouma for £6m from Saint-Étienne, this made Danny Wilson surplus to requirements so I sold him to Middlesbrough for £850k and loaned out Andre Wisdom to Stoke for the season.
I bought Adryan for £5m from Flamengo and will be sending him out on loan for the season.
I swapped Jack Robinson + £3.3m for Ibrahima Mbaye of Inter Milan and rounded out my summer dealings by bringing in Jack Butland from Birmingham City for £2.3m as I needed cover for Reina/Jones after selling Doni and letting Gulasci go at the end of the last season.

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?
Well, Unable to sleep and probably having work off, I'm going to just continue on.
I won my final Group Stage game 4-1 and Porto beat Sevilla, meaning I've qualified into the Knockout stage!
I've played a lot more games this season, but can't seem to buy a win in the league. In the January window, I made a few interesting moves. First of all, I sold Alexandr Kozlov, his form has been awful and Arsenal offered me $17.5 million, $2.5 million more I paid them to get him. I also sold Marc-Andre Ter Stegen to Sevilla for $18 million, as well as Matt Jarvis to Newcastle for $4.9 million and finally Richard Watt to Sunderland for $6.5 million. I also loaned out youngsters Miles Paterson, and John Thalassitis.
Joining the club so far is 6'9" centerback, Chrisofer Haas from Germany, and Ola John, who will allow Vazquez and Konrad to sit out more, since I my wide mids aren't developed well yet. I have some more money, looking to bring in a new starting keeper. Will keep updating this post throughout the day.
I've now signed Keeper Alberto Frison from Italy. At 86 overall, he is an upgrade over Ter Stegen, and Southern.
Well, with top striker Martinetti already injured, Lanzini was injured for 8 weeks right before my Champions League/Cup game vs. Bayern Munich. Going to use a 5-4-1 Diamond formation with my 6'6" CDM Will Akinde starting. Big game for us as we really need to defend well, which is not the strong point of my West Ham team..
I managed to battle my way to a 0-0 tie, Bayern outplayed me most of the game, but my defending was solid and Frison made some good saves. Great result for my side.

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?
Everton Career ; signed a 16 year old ST that came in as a 69, don't know if he'll get better but for some reason I can dominate with him despite low ratings (He's #10 btw)
Agbonlahor has been crushing for me and nearly every team wanted him in the second transfer window. I sold him for 10Mil, however they couldn't work out a contract. I asked 28 mil from others, no luck. Fellaini wanted to leave, he was up to an 84, I sold him to Real Madrid for $25mil
So that gave me about 40 mil in the bank at which point I made a 15 mil purchase of Welliton (thought I was getting rid of leading goal scorer Agbonlahor with 15 goals) - But either way can play welliton at CF to replace Fellaini.
So then, I decided to splurge and have no remaining budget. I went ahead and Bought Ibrahimovic for $25mil because he's one of my favorite players. Figured then I can bring Agbonlahor off bench, start him, play him at LM, or CF - I'll be selling these off after the season though . Right now I'm sitting in 4th place, 8 points down from Man City.
GK - Howard
LB - Baines (Ovieda Sub -young guy)
CB - Janielka
CB - Heitinga
RB - usual Hibbert but just started playing Seamus Coleman there
RM - Usuall Seamus Coleman, but starting to put Mirralles there and Agbonlahor
RCM - Osman or Neville
LCM - Gibson
LM - Gueye (excellent - with Agbonlehor as an alternate)
Barkley I've been giving playing time too in the midfield position - Solid player and I have 2 or 3 16 year olds that aren't too terrible I throw in on easier games
CF - Welliton or Agbonlahor (Naismith backup)
ST - Ibrahimovic (Agbonlahor, Welliton, or Chancillor 16 year old rotation)
Gueye is tied for the league in assists with 7, and is up to an 80 OVR
Agbonlahor is second now in goals with 15 but hasn't moved from 74OVR
I've had fun with this team thus far, kinda don't like having no money left and having too much talent up front, but I couldn't resist.
Internationally - I turned down Iran job, and then went ahead and took the Belgium Job. Got up 2-0 against Spain but lost 3-2 in WC qualifier, then tied Austria 0-0. Still up 4 points from 3rd place in my group table with 6 or 7 games played. I like the team OK, but I'll jump to USA, Brazil, Argentina, Italy or England if given the chance. Or even Sweden with Ibra.Comment

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?
Quick question about International jobs. I am in first season at the January transfer period and I only see International Friendlies and no World Cup qualifying. Will the WC qualifying just show up whenever I take an International position? If I accept a European spot, will I join the qualifying already in progress or has it not started yet? Thanks.Comment

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?
Due to having a lot of depth and players at the ST/CF position in my Everton career, and not a lot of Midfield Depth, I'm currently tweaking a 4-3-1-2 Gameplan and I believe it'll work out fine as I've played one game with 4-1 result over West brom. yes it was West Brom, but I liked the abilities with this formation

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?
Well, West Ham put up a valiant defending fight, but we lost 3-1 to Bayern Munich in the Champions League Round of 16. We defended to a draw in game 1, but in game two, their constant attack was too much. We held on to a 1-0 deficit at half of the second leg, but they scored twice in the latter half and we could only answer with an 81st minute goal. It was a hard fought battle, but a team of Bayerns class is still too much for us.
In the F.A. Cup we're playing the Quarters vs. Manchester United, and have drawn the first game 2-2. Some nice goals from Vazquez and Martinetti helped us take 1-0 and 2-1 leads, but they scored a typical 90th minute United goal and left us reeling to try and win a game at Old Trafford.
In league play, we continue to put up good efforts, but can't seem to find a win and remain at 9th in the table. Every time it seems we're on our way to a win, we let in a late goal. Against Fulham in our last game, we took the lead twice before going down 3-2, and finally scored a 90th minute goal by Prats Bastidas to draw. Carrington scored two penalty kicks, hopefully that will help turn his season around, as he's struggled to score this year.
We've also received a boost offensively, top playmaker LM Alexander Konrad and top goal scorer, CF Esteban Lanzini have both returned from injury. Lanzini will be on the bench vs. United as he is not quite fit, but could prove to be a late game hero. Konrad is fully fit and will get the start.

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?
11 games into my second Premier League Season with Liverpool and I'm sitting on top of the table. Only 3 points separate me (23 points) with 7th (QPR 20 pts)
I struggled early to score goals but I bought Sturridge from Chelsea and it changed everything. He has 10 goals thus far into the season.
I qualified for the Champions League after season one. I'm sitting on top of my group there too, leading over Atletico Madrid, AC Milan, and Lille.
In the League Cup I beat Blackburn 4-3 with my second 11. In the 4th round I had my best comeback ever. I played the second 11 against Leicester City. I trailed 3-1 in the 80th minute when I called on Suarez and Sterling to come in and see what we could get. I scored 3 goals in the last 10 minutes! Borini, Suarez and Allen all posted scores. It was a jump up and scream type game (Allen's game winner was the last play of the match!)

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?
Well, a crazy game in the FA Cup Quarter Final ended in Penalties.
RVP scored to open the match at the 5' mark, but Webster brought it even at 17'. RVP again scored at the 20' mark to go up 2-1. Alexander Konrad tied it at 2 in the 5th, but then Cidinho scored for Manchester and Hernandez followed it up with a penalty goal, to go up 4-2 in the 74th. I changed my formation and brought in Lanzini and Craig Morris, and scored a penalty of my own in the 78th. Cointinued attack brought a late goal by Konrad in the 88th.
In extra time,RVP scored again to make it 5-4, but Lanzini scored 2 minutes after, and from there it was a stalemate.
In Penalties, I shanked my first one over the net, and couldn't make a stop. Lost 4-2 on penalties.Colorado AvalancheWest Ham United
