    Significant Playing Time promise

Here's my question: Exactly how much playing time do you have to fulfill this promise, and if you don't fulfill it, will players leave?

I promised it to a freshman QB that I bring in to run the wildcat sparingly and in blowouts, and a freshman runningback that I bring in on goalline and short yardage. I also have an offensive lineman that I bring in on blowouts and occasionally line up at fullback.

So naturally I'm curious to as to whether playing them about 10 snaps per game is good or if you need more than that.

#1 on depth chart. You can formation sub them out and it doesn't matter.

Yep it's tied to the depth chart sadly as has already been said. You don't have to play them at all as long as they are in a starting spot on the depth chart before the game starts. I'm not sure how many games they have to up there though.

Out of curiosity, will putting the freshman I guaranteed playing time atop the depth chart, then playing them back to 2nd or 3rd string once the game starts have any negative effect on my starter's progression in the offseason?

And thanks for the responses, now that I know how it works I'll be able to keep my promises and hopefully not lose any recruits.

As previously mentioned, it won't matter.

You don't have to start them. They just have to play, likely in every game. I had a scrambling QB that I played in certain formations, and made sure he got in every single game. He didn't leave and I hit the promise.
