Last year I began a thread that served as a guide to running 30-Team Association’s: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...iscussion.html . A lot of that information can still be used now in 2K13, but I had an idea for a way to make 30-Team Control Association’s fun this year.
My idea is one for anybody who has ever tossed around the idea of running a 30-Team Control Association but ultimately backed out because they felt like they had TOO much control over the entire league.
What I was thinking is that each person who start their own 30-Team Control Association would post in this thread basic information about their association like what team you selected, what some of your goals are (short term and long term). Then every two weeks in the video game you would post a brief update. Like the current standings, who’s leading the league in points and what not.
At that point myself, or a panel of writers, will fill in the story line from the previous two weeks and what will happen in the future.
Perhaps there was a skirmish between a coach and a player that will result in less minutes in the upcoming week. Perhaps a coach decides a player needs to come of the bench as opposed to starting. Perhaps a player is unhappy with a current situation and demands a trade. Or perhaps even, a player is being shopped around by different teams.
I and the other writers will not be making these decisions for your team, but we will for the rest of the league. This way although you are in control, somebody else’s outside perspective and creative mind has the control of your Association mode.
This may make it easier when we get to the Offseason especially, because the writer can tell you whether or not players decide to resign or sign elsewhere.
Say you want a particular Free Agent to come to your team, the writer can take on the role of the Free Agent and you the team president. You can type up a little “pitch” to the player hoping he decides to sign.
I am not sure if this idea will take off or not, but I thought it would be fun for everyone involved if people gave it a shot. If anybody is interested, let me know and give me some info! I will aleady start write ups for your season!
If you are on PS3 use Version 3 of my roster so we are on the same page!
