Does real player percentage even work?
I'm starting to this this feature is broken. I'm 8 games into my season and Kyrie is shooting a horrible 35% with a 14% from the 3pt line. I don't even think real foul shooting percentage works in this game either. Does anyone else notice this also?Tags: None -
Re: Does real player percentage even work?
People have a misconception about Real Player %. I used to as well. Most people think you can tap the button, or hold it or whatever, and the result is determined based on the player's rating... this is not the case.
You still have to get the release right. Height of your jump. Now, if you have done that correctly, the RESULT of the shot is based on your player's rating. If you tap the button, or get a bad release... you'll miss every time, regardless of player... as you should. This is the ultimate in sim play, I feel.
Ex: If you play on Shot Stick Timing and have mastered Dwight Howard's jumpshot release... you can drain 3's with him all game, because you got the release right. BUT, if you turn around and switch it to Real Player % and get the same exact release with Dwight, he'll miss almost every time because his 3PT rating is low.
I hope this cleared anything up. -
Re: Does real player percentage even work?
yeah I know that. When shot stick is turned on I'm have a high percentage with Kyrie but with real percentage it's low and my shots are timed right. Played 2 more games to bring my total to 10 and I think I can get his FG% at a good number (maybe)but that 3pt % is gonna look like crap because he bricks every thing.Comment

Re: Does real player percentage even work?
It sounds like your sliders might be compensating for a poor release on Shot Stick Timing maybe? So when you switch it to Real Player %, if you use the same release, it is going to be harder to make if it isn't 100%.yeah I know that. Re: Does real player percentage even work?
IMO the shooting sliders have to be increased when you use Real Player FG%. I've used it for the past few years, and it has always resulted in poor percentages with the default sliders. First thing I do is bump up my shooting.Comment

Re: Does real player percentage even work?
Interesting. I always tend to lower the sliders. I like to see poor percentages sometimes. I like to feel like I'm earning my offense. An open mid range J or 3 pointer can be missed, and I like seeing that. With default sliders, both sides will almost ALWAYS shoot over 50% from the field in my experience.Comment

Re: Does real player percentage even work?
That's totally false

Re: Does real player percentage even work?
i remember i switched to real player % because i couldnt get bradley beals shot right and i lit it up with him...so no i dont think you have to get the timing right it just goes off what that player is rated in that area you take the shot in
also no just cuz you get the release right doesn't mean its going in everytimeComment

Re: Does real player percentage even work?
Yeah, except that it's not. I mean, maybe the example I used is a little exaggerated, but the basis is true. On Shot Stick, the release is essentially all that matters, good release, you have a good chance at making it (of course based on sliders) but with Real Player %, you need to get the release right AND your player has to be a good shooter to hit the shot.Comment

Re: Does real player percentage even work?
your player has to be a good shooter to hit the shot when you are using shot stick timing as well. You can't hit mid range shots with a 50 rated mid range shooter even if you get a perfect release, and the same applies to 3pt, that's why I said your statement was totally wrongYeah, except that it's not. Re: Does real player percentage even work?
I understand where you're coming from, of course you can't be UNSTOPPABLE with a 50 rated mid range shooter, but is is a fact that the penalty for shooting with a poor shooter is FAR decreased with Shot Stick Timing when compared to Real Player %. You'll make crazier shots FAR more often on Shot Stick Timing than Real Player %.your player has to be a good shooter to hit the shot when you are using shot stick timing as well. Re: Does real player percentage even work?
I know Kyrie's hot zones by heart and actually only shoot from there when shooting 3s. Nothing but bricks...i'm stil only shooting 18% from the 3 with him. While online I'm spot on most of the time.
*EDIT* Just had a game vs Boston and Kyrie went 7-9 from the 3. Hopefully when I play more games it ends up averaging it out right. I was so confused when I set a pick and moved to kyrie's shooting spot at the 3pt line and be wide open only to brick, or attack the rim with Dion and pass out to a open Kyrie to brick a shot.Last edited by apollooff320; 11-26-2012, 01:24 AM.Comment
